Title: persistant blade question
Post by: sobebop on April 18, 2006, 07:24:10 AM
the lv one spell shelgarn's persistant blade.

i am unable to use metamagic on it, extend to be more precise...
does anyone know why i can not extend it and cast it as a lv 2 spell?

Could be its not extendable.

Not to try to be a smart arse, but you need to have the feat extend spell and at least the ability to cast 2nd level spells.

Most likely its the first reason.

that sucks...  and makes no sence what so ever.

i dont see how empower would have an effect on it.  its a summons...
but then again i dont see why extend would not have an effect on it.

I just took a quick look at the code for it in the default NWN. According to x2_s0_persblde, it can be extended, but not empowered (or any other metamagic other than extend). Which makes more sense.

Unless Layo changed it, it should be extendable, giving it 2x the duration.

Not sure why it's not working for you...

Not the script the 2da entry that's probably bugged.

Ah, good catch. It's a 0x2C, which gives it Still, Quicken, and Maximize. No Extend.

Looks like 0x2E would do the trick, but I've never messed with spell 2da's before, so maybe that would turn the caster into a penguin :)

Edit: Actually, what does it mean to Maximize it? Probably ought to be 0x3A -- Silent, Still, Quicken, and Extend
