Wasn't sure where to ask this question, but decided to do it here. I am goin to join the world for the first time this weekend. On the character creation screen, if I understand this correctly, do I choose half-orc for the race and then half-giant for the sub-race, if I want to play my approved half-gian character? He really isn't a half-orc, as I had invisioned him as half-human/half-giant; so is this a game-mechanic requirement for your world? I just wanted to be sure before going ahead with character creation, as I would prefer to get this right the first time. Many thanks ahead of time for your patience.

That is almost correct...
According to this (http://nwn.layonara.com/Half%20Giant) page, you should pick the Half Orc race and write one of the following in the subrace field:
halfgiant
Halfgiant
Half Giant
(don't think/not sure if "half-giant" will work!)
Edit: Pfft! Typo changed the meaning of everything... *sighs*

I saw this text on that same page.
"Most Half Giants result from the mating of a giant male with a human female although the reverse condition has been know to happen."
this makes me beleave that you can also take human as a race and then Half gaint as a subrace.
As far as I know there are some subraces that you use in any race. I think the half gaint is one of them But I'm not 100% sure.
perhapes a GM or some one how knows for sure can give te right info.

You have to choose the half orc race then type halfgiant into the subrace field. This does not make him a half orc anything its just how its made to get to the halfgiant subrace. and keep in mind that when you are building him the skin with the half giant traits is applied after you start playing so put enough ability points in the right places.
