Thanks for posting a warning .....*sighs*.....or better the lack of doing so...
Thanks for costing me both gold and exp.
Hope the favor will be returned and you will be on the reciving end then.

The emerald drake has caused such trouble before. I think he could rival the Bone Dragon Golem.

It's all right if you want to see whether you can take the dragon on. But I think it's weak to try and run for it when you realize he's kicking your 'bottom'. That way you endanger other players for your own foolishness.
Just keep there on the top until one of you is dead, or if you have a way to get out of the fight without moving the dragon do that. It's your descision to try to fight him in the first place.
EDIT: Replaced a certain word, because it's improper. Thanks to Logan for pointing it out.

Farros has many a song honoring that drake. One night recently it ate at least 30 corpses, some people more than once!

Dying sucks but can't help but think that this is one of 8 bits "tough luck" moments.
Stuff happens, especially when you least expect it.

*Frowns* Just cool off their...
I hate when things like that happen but, well it does happen in game cant be the same each time around, think maybe the drake was a bit hungry so he was looking for some food *Shrugs*.

could have been an accident. That attitude is a tad griefified.

If it cost you XP you had either died very recently or many times in a short period already.
Not a good state to be travelling through dangerous territory (as half of the areas off of the black hills are populated with monsters that you can't avoid w/o sneaking or being invisible.)
So, to be more accurate, even only accounting for # of deaths, whoever dragged it is only 1/3 responsible for your xp loss. Which isn't even very much. Now if it was a DT.... heh, count your lucky d100's.

I died just before this at the camp of giants in the desert and was bound in Saudiria.
Since there is no crafthall there and the silver i got earlier was heavy,i needed to go to Pranzis.
With a great fight i managed to get to my stone and fight and overcome the giants there in my "death state".
The drake wasnt just a bit off his/her place...it was sitting on the AT.
No mistake can lure the thing right onto the AT,only running does that.( or crashing or logging.come to think of that)
There are other places it might work to drag the monster to the At and wait till its automaticly placed back
at his/her natural place of spawn, but that does not work with the drake since it stays so close to its
original point.
I think the only way to get it back up the hill,is to get some-one kill it or ask DM help with it.
*shrughs* Guess i was lucky no DT...and hey ..whats exp if you get near nothing from killing giants?
We al know we have to look out and try to suck it up if something goes wrong, or at least warn others if it does.
Could probably have worded it nicer ,but thats hard to do if you just survived a heroic battle in a giant camp,
only to be killed with help of someone elses mistake.

Actually, the drake is a placed creature, not a character-triggered spawn. Spawns time out after a certain amount of time, and are then replaced in their starting location the next time they're triggered. Placed creatures do not time out, nor is there any logic to return them to their "home" after a certain time, regardless of the distance. Placed creatures will only return to their start location if moved by a GM or they are killed, as then they will respawn after some time interval.

It seems I have a reputation for that, eh Den? Oh well. Coming from someone who has died in the most idiotic of manners (that's me, but I bet you have some to challenge me :) ), I think you'll be fine, Barry. You didn't get a Perm Token, and the worst that could happen is some resentment towards the Drakes from here on out.
Those bastages have been lording their kind-of-flight over us for years! Take 'em down.
-
Mmmmmm... drake......
"I eat drakes fer breakfast! They're good with garlic!"

I'll put my hand up for dying in idiotic moments, LOL, Hey 8 what about Geddrins bright Idea 'I know I'll try and blade barrier the big thing we were fighting it will surely sit still and die' NOT CHOMP CHOMP bye Geddy. Or my many moments I like to call brain farts, thats when for some reason an idiotic idea seems like a really good one for a brief moment, like the time I thought hey lets blade barrier the madmen or another when I thought hey lets blade barrier the 40 Ogres, 20 Orogs and 2 Dire Bears because hey life just aint challenging enough already LOL. Don't worry Gotak Geddrin will be there to keep you company sooner rather then later Kinsman.
-
den, i think you should be banned from using blade barrier....lol
-
HAHA definately MOB, he should be banned, flogged and re-flogged from ever using it again.
-
or maybe he just needs an alternative....maybe pillow barrier?

_M_O_B_ - 5/14/2006 2:29 AM or maybe he just needs an alternative....maybe pillow barrier?
Or simply, in the most liberal sense, a wall of garden gnomes that move up and down instead of the blades. Anyone going near that is insane, regardless of their level.

You never see monsters logging in here complaining that the adventurers strayed from Hlint and gave THEM a deathtoken, do you? No?
This whole "Bitter Rage Against the Entire Community" thing everytime that a monster DARES not stay within the same 5 foot radius of location for the entire extent of his natural born life has got to stop. Monsters wander, people wander, the world of probability is not static.

*grins* If they could they would ...trust me *chuckels*
just as a last reaction.....
When i went to Dregar today, and there were only five persons there ...just like the time i got killed ...
I got a tell with the warning that the drake was on the loose again ....
Just to tell that there are people that know what they are doing .
Thanks for the warning guys ( this time i mean it )
Good to know that there are players watching out for others.

I wander and wonder. Not only is spelling different, one is material and the other is mental. :P
