Title: RPing ranger skills

Now, my character got approved for multi-classing into ranger after he was already a level 8 fighter and he is still really really really far from lvling. So would it be acceptable if he still did some of the rangery tricks until he gets a level in ranger? like tracking and such

I'd say you bet!!!   just use your dice bag... Roll lots of Search, Spot, Listen.... Animal Emp etc... and RP it as you see fit.
