Title: Question about server mechanics
Post by: darkstorme on June 16, 2006, 12:08:02 PM
I remember reading in one post that you'd (World Designers) reached the limit of areas in West and Central.  Is this a predetermined number of areas you decided on to prevent the world from getting too unwieldy, or is it the hardcoded limit for module size?  (i.e., if there were a particularly neat/useful area, could it be added, or would another area have to be sacrificed for that purpose?)

NwN is not hardcoded in sizes and such. Essentially though we do not want the modules growing any larger due to server load (number of players), module size, memory availability (and consumption), and just the sheer size in the world at this time. If we get the modules any larger we will take even more of a lag hit due to memory/cpu hits.
