Trying to get a good idea of the numbers.
-
Both the Farstrider Pack and The Un-Named are committed to the defense of Lorindar
-
I'd be there but it's too late in the afternoon that day for me.
-
Hopefully on east, but it may prove difficult to go into an all night of play after one sleepless night and a 12h shift, but it's the end of the plot!
-
Natures for me. Not my style, but I dont have much choice.
-
Storold will be on natures defence if he decides to go there to help, depends a bit on some other events. But most likely I'll be there
-
Sallarons heading for "In defense". Will be a late night for me, but well worth it.
-
bloodstone and finale for me most definately
-
Xandrian, as a cadet of the Pranzis Army Officers Corp and member of the Farstriders is committed to the defense of Lorindar and Pranzis.
-
Elladan will be serving in the cause close to his heart - Nature's Defense
//lucky break on the level split for me!
-
Hehe, guess where Dorena will be... ;) Nature's Defense
-
I'd be at Nature's Defense, but I'm too low a level, so I'll be at In Defense instead
Actually, just while I'm here, will it be possible to join in the quest after it's started? As I won't be able to get online until two and half hours after it's started.
Plus I can always have Rend not realise that no-one's in town, find out where they went, and remember a few days later that the 'big shiny lizard' said something about 'that Blood guy', and then go off to help out :)
-
I guess this doesn't apply to low-level characters? :)
My PC, Myrrha De'loran (haven't played for a while due to RL commitments) would be hanging around Hlint and its outskirts, as usual, and wonder what's going on.
-
Ahem...
For the folks going to Lordindar. (http://www.layonaraonline.com/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=27160)
Freldo will be there, will you? *eyes the crowd*
-
Ha, I lucked out that I got the morning shift at work that day. So I'm out in time for the quest. Unfortunately, I have to also avoid the dreaded family bonding time, but if that can be dodged, Jet will be there.
-
East, where all Toranite paladins should be. ;)
-
Central, absolutley. I'm not sure who will be able to make it... Zug or Trig... probably Zug, since his mother's home is just north of Lorindar, and Trig will likely be off somewhere looking for pirates. :)
-
Can't make it but my PC will be ICly at home in Pranzis. Hopefully someone writes up what happens in all the various places so those of us that can't go can at least enjoy the conclusion. Please don't suggest we find out ingame! That would be cruel and unusual punishment. :-)
-
im confused... what is this?
-
Barion will be on east were he belongs .
He's worked all his life for this purpose ,so no chance he will miss out on it .
-
After some thinking I decided to go for East.
-
"....I guess this doesn't apply to low-level characters?...."
Take a look at the calendar. What do you classify as 'low-level', less than level 5? Level 5 is the minimuim requirement for the central server quest, as it states in the calendar event.
-
I won't beable to make it! I'll be in London watching a play with my relatives whilst the fate of Layonara online is decided!!
Edd.
-
Heh, on Layo, "low-level" refers to anything under level 10... Though I have no idea how people seem to reach 10 so easily.
Anyway, I'll be on In Defense on Central, though I'd be there for Blood and the Finale if Pyyran had the level for it.
-
I'll be in Llorindor for "In Defence" Regardless...((Unless I have to roll and roll another 1. 1s are dangerous))
-
I'll be in a law library hating the responsibilities of real life! Good luck to you all and have fun!

Ouch, I've been there and done that. Have a good day. :)
Thanks Leanthar for pointing out the minimum level (5) for the quests. Myrrha, however, is terribly bad at survival, so she might not join in if she wants to keep her skin intact. Still best wishes to all who are signing up! :D
-
I'l be hoping to help out In Defense, just have to wait and see who is chosen :)
-
I will be taking care of RL things :( sorry no Garnet for the battle.
-
Rawkwin will be at Nature's Defense
-
Ireth will be at Nature's Defense
-
Awww... I cant make it have to take care of some RL Issues. :(
- Fight well my friends. Give no Quarter! *Roar*
-
The star's have aligned and even though this time slot would normally be a non-starter, I have been given the green light by my commanding officer (wife), hehe. Hopefully there will be an available place for a hard hittin dwarf! Dorax will be on east and wanting to be a part of the end to Blood.
-
Both of my toons qualify for the same mission, so I will be there. Amazing, I can actually make a plot quest1
-
If I am reading the description correctly on the calendar it says a max of 18 per quest.
If that is the case I will not attend any.... It isnt fair to let a dice roll decide who gets to be involved in something this massive, as far as how it will shape Layo's future.
I see 38 signed up for the 1st, 32 signed up for the Second, and [big]50[/big] signed up for the 3rd.
I know full well that none of the servers will handle 30+ people in one area buffed and fighting bloods forces. So the limit has to be there.
I have no clue how get around that. But some are gonna go... and many are gonne be sent back.
-
Very true, G452... But then, is there ANY fair way to decide, without punishing those of us who haven't had the opportunity to make high-levels?
-
Tough call.
There are currently 50 names on the list for Bloodstone, though some are also on the other lists. Still, I count at least 20 on that list I know have had an active roll in the plot quests, and I won't take a spot one of them deserves. If I show up for this one, I would be hoping for a lot of no-shows, basically. *cough* Fat chance *cough*
There are currently 32 names on the list for Nature's Defense. That's kind of surprising, since there are LOTS of characters level 13 or above, so I'm guessing there will be a lot of people showing up without signing up. One way or another, I expect a big mob there, and a lot of rolling for spots on the quest. If I show up for this one, I will be hoping for good rolls.
I haven't considered the other one at all, since it's like Nature's Defense, but worse.
So I imagine I have a good chance of doing what I've been doing for a while, which is driving myself nuts making bread and roasts for Roldem.
-
Yeah, this one is going to be tough. It is why we set up three quests for this finale. NwN will really only handle 16-18 characters in a single area without lagging overly hard. Once you hit 20 in a single area with combat it gets to be really bad. An NwN limitation that we are trying to 'get around' by spreading out 60+ people across three servers. There really is no other viable solution I don't think.
-
*looks scared and prays for high roll*
-
Is there anyway of coming up with a solution for this so those who are staying up especially don't dope up with caffine only to be told they are not in and spend the next 3 hours pacing the floor and trying to find out how its going?
-
@nibor21. Do you have a solution? I don't...we might put another server up for another quest but that other quest is not defined. I do think we have a gm that could run the other quest (if we get one defined)...other than that I have no other solution. Do you?
-
I was actually thinking of something more simple like you thinking of a number, and getting people to post what they think is the number on a forum post. 18 nearest from each list of calendar signed up individuals gets in.
Make the announcements two hours earlier - that gives europe the chance to see if it is worth staying up for.
I confess it isn't actually as elegant as the other server idea, but it does mean people won't necessarily hang around for ages beforehand (which may cause lag anyway) just on the off chance.
I don't want to be a trouble causer, just didn't want to have make a pot of coffe i could stand a spoon up in if i didn't have too :P
-
You guys can do that if you want but I am not going to be doing that. I will have enough on my plate before the quest starts (well before--ie many hours).
You will find that not everybody will read the forums, answer the post and many will not show up--but many will show up that did not sign up...
You are welcome to try.

one thought would be to have a backup defense in waiting incase things go badly.. then throw a few things at it when the main front isn't in an eminent fight situation.. everyone could do something but not everyone needs to be main battle line. another thought would be to have a corps defending West in Leilon to thwart pirates or forces that escape Dregar...kind of late I know but it doesn't have to be a big thing really.. few bad guys to whack and most will be happy to say they participated in some way I think. At least they won't have to say they shoveled ox poop in the Hlint stable when the war was going on...hehe

Working on a 1700 word, 15 page paper... grrrr

My character Sonya DarkAngel is going to try and be at the quest: in defense. I'm going out to dinner before that so I hope I will make it. I should be able to make it if I got the time right. To bad I probebly won't be able to get my sonya to lvl 8 before then.
