Two sets of bugs here for you. 1) Violen Bow weight - 4 pounds
2) Violen weight - 0.1 pounds
-
Violen's and other bardic instraments give bonus bard spells, however when unequiped already existing spells disapear. This is a hardcoaded bioware bug. Just sugesting the removal of said spells and a possible bonus to the skill.
Example from above: Ozy has 6 level 3 spells. Ozy equips violen and has 6 level 3 spells with 3 empty slots from the bows bonus Ozy unequips the violen and now has 3 spells with 3 empty slots do to de-memorised spells.

The instruments are a pain in the hiney unless you think out how you are going to use them ahead of time. I'd love to have a " near weightless dummy set" for RP purposes. You need to rest with the instrument equipped to get the spells then use the bonus slot spells before unequipping. It means more crafting recipies but perhaps having a craftable version without spell slots as an option or having a non-spell slot version (But with the skill bonuses) in the toolset so bards could have the option to swap theirs out. (I know more work for the team but not that many bard even use the instruments).

Their "pain" factor is not unlike switching ability/stat jewelry that adds spells/day, but I do understand what you're saying.
At the very least, the weight will be fixed. The RP-only violins is something we may address at a later time.
-
I use the hickory violin for RP reasons, cantrips are pretty useless in most cases so I don't mind squandering them.
-
Why don't we just put RP only instruments for sale somewhere? With no properties.
Or SuperMunch's idea works.

Part of the problem here is the base item for each, which have widely different base weights.
Anyway, the weight of the bow is reduced to 0.4 pounds and the violin is staying at 0.1 pounds. This is still quite backwards, but together their weight makes more sense.
This will be effective in the next update.
