Title: Uhm... development threads?
Post by: Fortnight on June 30, 2006, 04:23:50 PM
I was reading some of the characters stories there, WOW! someone should put those all in a book, I'd buy it!

Question though, do I have to do one for my character?

I can type, but it's more of a random thought jibberish style of poetry... err, not really reading material.

Fortnight!

You don't have to... But it's usually nice to have one. :)

Which reminds me of that I should do that again... Hm...

You don't have to have one... but its cool to read back through as your character changes over time.

And the style, well thats however your character would want to do it...  I've seen posts that are huge to one or two words...  many different styles

Yeah, it's not necessary. If you find your character undergoing a major change though, it's probably good to have one. For things like learning languages or looking to get approved for a PrC, you'll also want/need to have one marking your progress. Also, depending on how your character would react to things like mass slaughter and dragons he may be pushed toward keeping a journal as well. (JOURNAL not Diary... far more manly. *flexes*)

I like to use CD Threads as a way for people to see an otherwise invisible aspect of your character. Such as Matilda's CD thread, "This Protector, a Tiny Star in a Sea of Giants.", where her thought process is explained, or in Key's thread, "Pandora of the Restless Spirit", where hints of who she is under her exterior self are given.
