Did not think it would be so depressing to lose my main character.
Thank you to all the players that have been friends with Glenn. From the start I have had fun and built great friendships (ones that I hope will continue with my new char). I even got to meet with a bunch of Layo players in person.
Even though I was expecting perma-death it was still a shock and a surprise when it happened. The impact did not sink in until the next morning when I thought “I wont be playing Glenn anymore”. A year building and developing a characters personality, relationships, tactics, and skills is a long time. I felt very close to Glenn and even learned some RL lessons through him. Over the span of Glenn’s time on Layo I experienced many emotions sitting at the keyboard. I laughed (many many times), I cried (a few), I felt protective of friends, and anger at the bad guys. I am feeling a lot of things right now about losing him anger, joy (at the way his comrades handled his death), suspicion, anticipation (of focusing on a new char), and mostly a deep deep sadness at losing a close friend. I can say that if I had to do it all over again there are only a few things I would do different. One of which is being more careful about DTs at lower levels (take this as advise). So to all of Glenn’s friends, I say thank you again for the RP and fun times.

Sorry for your loss.
I strongly encourage Glenn's comrades to write up an obituary for The Dragon's Whisper.
-
Wow, sorry to hear it even though I never really got to know Glenn because of playing time.
-
I'm sorry to hear this, Glenn was a lot of fun to RP with.
-
Sorry to hear of the loss. Glenn is going to be missed.
-
As one of those that have a Permed character, I can realate to everything you say, and tell you that: No it wont get better with time, but you will learn to deal with it.
But you always miss this special character that you had. I know it sounds hard, but thats the truth.
Im sorry to hear for you loss.
-
Sorry to hear about Glenn, he will be missed.

I will miss Glenn! He will always be remembered as a wonderful friend. Looking forward to seeing ya with a new one *winks*

As a long time friend of Glenn's, I hate to see him go.
Rodlin was introduced to Glenn by Yar, whom is now gone as well, right after Glenn hit Mistone. Rod has had a lot of good times with him and got to see him grow, mature, even fall at times, but that is what made Glenn, Glenn. There were times when Rod just watched Glenn and shook his head at some of the things he did. There were other times when Rod was very impressed. Glenn achieved things that Rodlin only dreams of and hopefully someday will achieve himself.
Farewell, Glenn, may the Longstrider watch over you as you keep him company. Someday, Rod will be there with you and they can pick up where they left off.

Glenn was the most recent member of the Crimson Shield and will be sorely missed by all of us. He was a great companion in combat and out. *says a prayer to Aeridin for the passsage of Glenn's soul* Bye friend.

Sorry Jrizz, I know you can't replace Glenn, but let's get out there are create some new memories. When Dorax got his 9th DT (the first time) I decided then that I needed some different characters to lessen the pain when/if he goes and I've really enjoyed playing different characters. I know you can never replace Glenn, but you can move on to new adventures, relationships and fun. Hang in there!

Ye Gads....
I woke up, Read Treana's post, and started crying, and didn't stop....
I know Rhynn hasn't talked to Glenn much, but the one time She did, on the Isle at Lake Paldon(sp?) Just talking about stuff, and about finding her balance, and how Glenn sat with her until she felt better...
I'll never forget that...
And I'll never forget all that you did for Rhynn's/My best friend Ash....
I'm gonna Miss ya Glenn *frowns*
Cole, Glenn...now what *sighs*

Sorry to hear about Glenn. It was not a char I was involved in deeply. But he did colour the background together with Kloss, if you know what I mean. :)
-
I am sorry to hear this... Glenns passing will deeply effect several PCs. He was a polite and noble soul. Tyrian shall always keep the short compound he made her... the only one he ever made...
Good luck with his little brother *smiles*

Jin Lun Lee hears the rumour of Glenns passing and weeps.
[yellow]"I only pray that he achieved his last wish" [/yellow] Jin mutters to the wind.

Glenn, sorry to hear about your death especially since we started here about the same time, had many good adventures with Glenn and he sill surely be missed. Axodeth will seek out his brother and expess his condolences, hope he isn't taking it to hard. I know how you feel as far as having a character you grow into for a long time, there have been times I laughed at the game just from RP and then times I wanted to throw my mouse through my monitor screen, LOL. Anyway I'm sure your next character(s) will become part of Layo just as Glenn did. See ye Glenn.
Your friend,
Axodeth o' de Stonecutter Clan

It doesnt get easier after losing a part of your life.I know,I still mourne Sin's passing because it was 2 years and thousands of hours of my life.
I hope you find the right fit with your new character.I havent.Lam'lothane is ok but he's not Sin'dolin.

eww sorry to hear mate ill miss Glenn

*Bows his head, bringing it up with a shake* So many characters that I've known for a long time have gone this way, or have stopped being played much do to being close to this. I'm glad that you played Glenn to the end though. Somehow it seems like a bit of a betrayal to the character to park him in a rocking chair before his time.
It's been great running around with Glenn, Esi will miss him. I look forward to continuing to see you in game as your other characters.
Warm Regards,
Esi

*Jacchri bows his head when he hears the news form the birds*
May Longstrider guide you safely to Arborea.

Glenn was a role model for ranger's everywhere and a personal friend. He was what was best in all of us and will be sorely missed.
Lo, there do I see my father.
Lo, there do I see my mother.
And my sister and my brother
Lo, there do I see the line of my people,
Back to the beginning.
Lo, they do call to me.
They bid me take my place among them,
Under the sacred branches of the Great Forest,
Where the brave may live forever.
Long live Glenn Thendor as he walks the Great Forest with the Longstrider.

When I read Treana's post, I must admit it kind of hit me.
I didn't get to interact with Glenn an awful lot, but when I did, I really liked the character. He was one of the first I met, and helped me out early on. I'm very sorry to see him go.
Rest assured, though, Creighton will try to make up for the time he didn't get to know Glenn with his little brother.:)
-
Thank you all for your kind words, you cant know how much it means to me. I am happy that Glenn touched so many charaters lives. Having so many of you come forward to say this is to me better then if he had lived to see epic status. Again thank you all so much.
-
Putting it bluntly... I saw this thread and said to myself "more of a reason to go back to bed." Well, I got up a couple hours later and avoided Layo the entire day. now I'm just hoping Ash doesn't jump off a cliff or drown. It really happened.. I can't get over it.. gonna drive me crazy. :(
-
Wow... sorry for your lose, jrizz. :( Glenn was a fun character to RP with.
-
Sorry to hear about your death Glenn, I was just getting to know you and learn from you, and hoping for a bow from you. You will b missed
and nepp is searching for ash, and if she jumps off any thing, he'll, uhm, stop her or kick her butt or soemthing

lets do a wake for Glenn next weekend. There was an offer for the freelancer to host I think that would be a good settting. If that is ok, I will put something on the cal this weekend.
Briing you bows :)

Sounds good. I will be there.
