I am not sure this is a bug or not but I noticed today that the damage from the silver enhancement on my morning star is slashing damage. Besides the fact that a morningstar does piercing and bludgeoning damage, it seems odd that an enhancement that is intended to add damage against undead would add a damage type that some undead are immune or resistant to. Shouldn't it just add the damage type for the base weapon? I am not sure what the coding for this is but it just seemed odd. Thanks.

imo ideally it would add bludgeoning vs undead and slashing vs shapeshifters (which would be very easy to code.)
Anything like divine or positive would be too powerful and shapeshifters are often resistant to anything but slashing.
The answer given last time this came up was that it was for balancing, though that may have been in response to someones request that it be changed to divine damage.

It was done like this intentionally, if memory serves.
I forget the reason exactly, but I believe the purpose was to help overcome the slashing DR on most undead. And yeah, the part about the vulnerabilities of shapechangers.

Last time I used a Silver enhanced weapon, it did Divine damage... It's been changed?

They have never done divine damage, at least to my knowledge.

Perhaps someone cast Bless Weapon on your weapon and you didn't notice?

Divine Damage is new to me ... never seen that before ... as silver enchantment I mean.
