Title: Collector's Edition?

Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone knows what the difference between the normal copy of NWN2 and the collector's edition copy of NWN2 is, going out to pre-order it later on today, and I'm not sure what one I should get.

According to nwn2news.net, quoting another site, there will be a good and evil version of the collector's edition. They differ in the box, startup screen, and figurine included. I couldn't find an official announcement of this, but I thought there was one on the vault somewhere.  The game contains a good or an evil figurine from the D&D universe. Other content included in both (good and evil) editions:

I also heard that there is some kind of in game item included, which just stinks.  I might get the CE just becuase I like CE's...but who knows.

I read that in the US there was just going to be one deluxe edition but that in Europe there would be multiple varients.  The post I read also said the contents had not been officially announced yet.

Good and evil versions? Sounds cool, depending on what the contents are over in my wee corner of the world, they'll probably ask me what one I want when I pick it up, if they have the two versions that is. Kind of odd that you can pre-order it even though they don't know what's in it yet. Anyway, thanks for the info, now I have to run before I miss my bus :)

From what I've read, it's an additional "background" that you can select on character creation that will give you a bonus with in-game merchants.  Of course, you'd sacrifice choosing any other "background" to take it...

Sarcasm aside, "backgrounds" are like having an extra feat/flaw on character creation.

Yeah, I'm sure it will all work out for the best with the story.  I just can't wait to have the game in my hands and on my computer.  Any truth to the rumours of it being delayed?

"Note that the ship date for NWN2 is now Oct 20th, 2006."

Whether that's delayed depends on when you were expecting it, but it is a shift from about a week ago.

I am probably going to preorder the NWN2 game aswell so I will not get the collectors edition
