Title: to all my fellow sysadmins (and iptable fans . . .)
Post by: Fatherchaos on July 27, 2006, 03:43:58 PM
I stumbled across a link that gave me a rather hearty laugh. I'm sure many of you are well aware of neighbors who may have an unsecured wireless network. There are at least four with great signals near my own house. I've always followed the rule of thumb of restrictive access on my networks, therebye always encrypting/securing my own wi-fi's. Thus, I've never really given any thought to other people accessing my networks beyond my typical trap and intrusion response. . .

However, after finding the following article, I'm thinking of opening up my wi-fi and routing my firewall through my linux server just for laughs. Grab a drink, read the page, and have a few chuckles on me :)

P.S. If you live near San Dimas, ca, and suddenly see "Free Dsl" or "Kit-te-net" as a wi-fi, I hope you like kittens :)
