Since the weather got its been turned off everynight. But in winter my office at home (which has no central heating) is the warmest in ther house and i never turn the PCs off
-
i would keep it on if it didnt rain so bad here

I heard the best for the life of the computer is to shut it down at the end of the day and start up the first time you use it in the day. So just one cycle per day.

Hmm, i rebooted recently, but before that my computer was on for... a month, lol
-
I don't reboot anymore as my home computer decided to behave, I just turn it off and on. As for my work one, I reboot it whenever an important kernel patch comes out: [kajita@orthanc]# uptime 15:49:20 up 21 days, 1:59, 2 users, load average: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00

Hummm - lets see.
Home computer, lin/win box. Power cycle regularly, off when not using it, on when in front - so usually 1-4 times in any 24 hour period.
Home server, the last time it was rebooted was when my roommate pulled out the power cord and made me start over on some projects, particularly a rather difficult portfolio website and my mythtv mods :) (ummm, bar-b-que mobo!) Word of advice: if your looking for a free power slot, don't pull out a power cable that resembles a strangely thick computer cord connected to a surge supressor backed by UPS. You may anger the *.nix gods (or at least their firey agents)
Work computer: Often need to reboot it as often as I strike a key - I've come to thoroughly despise this winblows box . . .

re....re...re-boot...what's that? There's this little button on the front of my tower that has a light in it...I think I hit it once to turn the computer on when I first got it. Is that the re-boot button?
Joking aside, I've been building computers since 94 and only turn mine off after a massive update or something blows and has to be replaced (I have done the latter more often).
:)
