possibly in kingdom hearts 2 where sephy kills me in approximatly 10 seconds. I always block the first attack (if i dont it only leaves me with 1 tenth of my health or less) but his normal hits kill me in 10-12 hits and he hits 1-3 times per second. also cant time counter attacks or reflecta right. i was level 45 at the time.
also Far Cry is the most un-forgiving game ever. most times i go through the same spot 6 times since i run low on health.

You gotta hate that spot in FFVII for PC where, if you don't have the patch, it crashes after FOUR HOURS of Cactaur Grinding just before the first Chocobo Races at the Golden Saucer.

in Satrwars Galaxies, driving along on your bike on Dath (very high level planet) suddenly a lag spike and your bike warps about 200m backwards and you jump off and get eaten by rancors...

The original X-Wing game. Training simulator. Third mission. Minefield. 42 freakin' laser blasts at once. Artoo didn't even have time to scream.

Resident Evil 4... When you just feel like rushing a bit and forget Ashley is with you. All of a sudden Leon falls to the ground and you realize she had been busy stopping pitchforks, handaxes, scythes, etc etc with several different parts of her body. Har

This was a shocker? I saw that coming from when you meet the guy. (Not that I didn't find him useful, of course - but my main character was a bard.)

humm, one of my most hated moments involved Black and White. Near the last zone, there is a quest where you need to retrieve a potion before a town gets too sick and dies. If you succeed, you get to make your pet a wolf. If you fail, you don't. Well, due to a certain bug, failure was the only option :) Needless to say, I replayed that mission to the point where I single handedly razed the entire town and surrounding area to the ground, by 'hand', until I exhausted all possible options and realized that the quest was in fact a bonifide bug. Remember never to put a banevolent diety into a broken, nested loop, they'll go barmy and destroy your world :)
Come to think about it, I haven't played B&W since that day, nearly 3 weeks after its release. Don't get me started on trying to backup a profile . . . *wonders if a pressed CD will react differently from a burned CD in the microwave.*

If anyone's ever played Ico. That whole game's worth of dragging that idiot around is annoying..
Even more so when you're not the one playing, and istead find yourself watching a dumb as bricks stubborn as an ox brother running in circles with the stupid girl not listening to His smarter sisters back seat puzzle solving

- Zerg rush cheese spammers in Starcraft (for you Rayenoir)
- Timed missions in GTA
- Any title containing the word "Spyro"
- Having the computer AI whip you with one elephant cavlary just outside your unit's movement range in Civ II
- The Sims...period (no SimUnemploment Office :( )
- Anything that involves landing a multimillion dollar jet aircraft
- Putting a Lion Bag on an ingot recycler watching the bag burn merrily, while your ingots are returned to you (and they're only platinum)

Oh, no...
On that sort of note... Spending almost forty hours collecting berries, and then watching them ALL go away on a string of 1s and 2s that eats something like a hundred berries.

Chuckie Egg on the BBC model B - when you have been playing forever and you realise that there is NO END to the game - they just keep on adding more golden geese and ducks untill you HAVE to finally snuff it.
http://www.old-computers.com/museum/computer.asp?c=29 ahhhh the nostalgia!
oh and those of you who have only known windoze based PCs or Macs you would be amazed at what you manage to do in 32K of RAM

Call of Duty United offensive. Just broke the whole perfect gameplay in the first, where you could make it trough the game on the hardest difficulity without quicksaving because you where smart. In UO its mostly about luck. ... Grey Matter studios!

I've got two:
The first Spyro, trying to find the last bits of treasure at the Haunted Towers level. Took me ages to figure out how to do it, and even longer to actually do it.
Second is in Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain. In order to unlock bonus health you need to beat all the missions without dying, and I managed to do so except for the last level (my current death count in that level was 17 ;) ) Took me hours to get through to the end of the mission without being killed, only to have my agent be incinerated by a sneaky flamethrower. I nearlysmacked the console.

ANy GTA title.. I think they are over hyped and too many young kids...
This one part in half life 2 were you gotta cross a train bridge ander are force fields at both ends..I didn't look around to find a way to shut them off it took me 2 hours to figure out ho to get the buggy up and over both forcefields and then get my self over them.....
first time i played Wharhammer 40k and No one told me tyrants are a pain... Even when there is a tyrant queen out
Also Zerg rushes...

I would have to say the great and long hours endured by those of us who are probably 30 or older.... drawing out maps on graph paper for Bard's Tale 2. The areas were large enough to be difficult to memorize, so being the geek that I am... much as we all are here... I bought graph paper and would click the forward key once... draw what I saw, and clicked it again.... HOURS I TELL YOU.... ugh...
Too bad a new game came out that made me quit playing it.

In Knights of the Old Republic, I used an item to give me temporary HP just before a huge battle. At the end of the battle, I saved. Ten seconds later I died. I reload. I die. An hour later, I figure out that the temporary HP was running out, and I had no healing items what so ever. I had to relaod to my last save, and took another hour to catch up to the point I was at.
