I was just wondering what the summons would be for a Chaotic Good Character. If someone could tell me I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks
-
I thought it was based on Deity, unless there isn't one. In that case then Id on't know...
-
Various Celestials for the full breakdown and rules of summons. See the handbook.
-
It depends.
If the character is a cleric, the summons is based on the deity.
If the character is a mage/sorcerer/bard, the summons is based on the alignment (unless the Censer of Arcane Devotion has been used by the PC).
So, for a CG wizard/sorcerer/bard who has NOT used the Censer of Arcane Devotion, the summons would be those listed under Toran (see here (http://nwn.layonara.com/DeitySummons))

ok thanks for your help : )

hmmm I am interested in finding out what the nuetral caster summons are. Without the censor of course. If anyone knows it would be a great help.

To put it very shortly - golems. Celgar could give a detailed essay on the different types and their strengts :p
-
oh the Lucinda set of books and golems? thanks
-
I wish it was golems...I have a level 7 TN wizard with no Deity, and he summons books.
-
For the Lucinda summons you get books for lvls 1-4 and then starting at 5th you get a clay golem, stone golem, iron, golem, shield guardian, mithral golem
-
you get books first, later you will get the golems, lvl 5 is clay i think, lvl 6 stone, lvl 8 shield, lvl 9 mithril.
-
har.. what he said!
-
If you follow the link Kavil posted you can see them all. Aragen and Goran have the same summons as Lucinda.
-
And I will be the first to say that they're pretty nice summons for the lone mage.
Still, I'm curious as to what a CN caster's summons would fall under.
-
if your a wizard and you get golems and books for summons DON'T get 7th summon, the iron golem is horrid beyond any thing mortal.. only good thing it has is high crit, seen it once top out at 75 yet its ungodly weak, Stick with the stone with is slight damage soak and slow bolts till ya can get the shield then things get intresting
-
That's what buffs are for, Cel. Stoneskin the Iron guy, give him a Bull's.
Seriously, what deity do the CN casters get?
-
WWho ever they follow, Evil follower mages get the same thing as corath followers, TN will get books and golems, while good the celestials

What I want to know, is why my CG goddess Az'atta, provides me with LG celetial summons? I look at my greater hound archon. I like him. He doesn't do so good against gainsts, but will bash down any undead I put him against, as he is a 12 HD Outsider / 4 HD Paladin worshiper of Az'atta. Who was smoking the exptional plains weed, when they alocated LG summons to my CG goddess?
I better not push this issue too much though. I realy like my summonses.

Acctually lucinda summons a shield golem at 7 or 8 while aragen and goran summon a helmed horror
-
I believe that was changed a few updates ago so that they all summon the same, actually.
-
The helmed horrors were weak or something.

Uhh... as the original answer to the thread pointed out, the CG characters summoning by alignment will get celestials... not just LG. Az'atta has the CG summons, they just happen to be the same. Alignment based summons (wizards/sorcs/bards who have not undergone the ritual with the censer of arcane devotion) are based on good/evil, not law/chaos.
-
Thanks, Acacea. I didn't know if the Law/Chaos axis affected it.

Trust Cel, and note i dident even add the iron golems in my line up, they dont count, there junk. your better off buffin your stone golem then an iron. and the big pit fall of the iron is its breath attack, the DC is just right to get your mage, but wont hurt much else. and the second effect for Iron golem breath is?? DING DING thats right, death. so if you are going to take summen 7, make sure to have antadotes ready at all times, and dont use it with a part of your going to kill your fellows. Its alot like the water summens but weaker in combat i think. just stick with stone, truuuust us!
