* Lin'da walks up and looks at the list again, pleased but not entirely. She adds a new note to the old ones that says *
This expedition is close to being full, Im very pleased that so many people have decided to join me into the depths. I would still hope that we could recruit one more fighter, for this trip, but if not, then so be it.
The names I have for this trip so far is the following:
Yard, Rawkwin, Emerald, Mith, Daeron, Ael, Goldwin, Katrien, Athus, Rufus.
If you dont see your name there, then its because you have not signed up, and I consider that the same as not coming, so ive you intend to come, -SIGN UP-. I hope I made myself clear regarding this point.
I will announce the final team tomorrow at 4.00 P.M. EDT. There will also be a Battleplan preapared shortly after. All those that are selected will read it, and understand its meaning, for our succes.
I hope that was all, but if theres something you want to ask about, your welcome to send me a message.
  Sincerly yours Lin'da

Gunther will be more than happy to go help out (but doesnt meet the level req, being 18th.  I'll leave it up to you, I'd rather not be a hindrance though).

Ive seen you in combat, and Im short on figthers with great stamina, so your help will be usefull if no other signs up. Can you use a shield in one hand? If you can, then put your name down, and I will look through those I need for the trip.

* Lin'da walks cheerfull up to the message board and writes *
Due to some last minute planning, im gonna allow both Quantum and Ralinda to join us on this trip, this was only made possible due to Voon joining our group. I know that I would have announched the final team later, but im gonna close it now, and be satisfied with the interest.
  The final team:
[list=1]
I have sent some messages around for diffrent people, as I need to know of certain cirlce of spells for this to work with so many. there will be a battleplan posted later. It will not have any tactic in it, but more of a guideline to how our magic will be devided. I hope this trip is gonna be succesfull.

Heres the battleplan for tonight. find your name on the list with a UNDERLINE. If your name is underlined then your gonna have to prepare the spells for the persons under your name.
This is what I want you to have atleast, all other spells will be selfbuffs and spells for fighting. Heals if your a cleric, and so on. If you got a question about the battleplan, post your question here, or send me a pm.
If you find a mistake somewhere, or know that it cant work, maybee your not being able to cast a certain spell or dont have enough spellsslot for whats written, let me know before we travel out.
If you cant find your name underlined, then your lucky, just relax and let the others buffs you.

Title: RE: Trip for Emeralds
Post by: Ar7 on August 18, 2006, 06:50:19 AM
A lot of thought was put into this.

I have one comment though. Protection from Elements and GMW go into the same slot, according to the plan it means 10 slots. Now I could put some of them on extend or empowered, but I would rather suggest to change my 4 extra Protection from Elements with Mith's 4 extra Stoneskins. That way we can all fit into our slots without needless empowering and extending.
Title: RE: Trip for Emeralds
Post by: Blackguy on August 18, 2006, 07:02:38 AM
GMW is a third circle spell for wizards. 4th for Clerics, but since you need to handle all the GMw, thats not an issue. The 4 extra Protection from elements will be extended in your case Ar7, and you only need to buff Gunther. So it all works out right?
Title: RE: Trip for Emeralds
Post by: Ar7 on August 18, 2006, 07:40:26 AM
Alright, I will extend the Protections *nods*

* small change to the battleplan *
And your right Ar7, its easier for Mith to take them, and you get his stoneskin instead. You've also gotten my mindblank, as it makes me able to take one more sunburst. Look at the updated battleplan for the changes. Changes done to Mith and Ar7.

Lin’da: Protection from spells, True seeing for herself

Goldwin: Protection from evil, Bull, Con, Protection from elements, Stoneskin, Flame weapon.
Ael: Protection from evil, Bull, Dex, Con, Wis, Protection from elements, Stoneskin, True Seeing
  Katrien: True seeing
  Gunther: Flame weapon, True seeing

Rufus: Mindblank, Protection from spells, Stoneskin (4 extra)

Gunther:  Protection from evil, Bull, Con, Protection from elements, Stoneskin, GMW
  Goldwin: GMW
  Yard: GMW
  Emerald: GMW
  Quantum: GMW, Flame weapon

Ralinda: Stoneskin (4 extra), Protection from elements (4 extra), True seeing for herself, Extended Mass Haste(as many as you can)

  Goldwin: True seeing
  Emerald: True seeing
  Rufus: True seeing

Mith: Protection from elements (4 extra), Mass Haste (as many as you can), Extended Mass Haste (as many as you can)

Katrien: Protection from evil, Cat, Con, Bull, Protection from elements, Stoneskin

Daeron: Protection from spells, True seeing for himself

Emerald: Protection from evil, Bull, Con, Protection from elements, Stoneskin, Flame weapon

i -might- not be able to make it, stuff happened and i -might- not be able to get out of work in time. I hope these are not true, but with my luck, they are.

looking at some of the spells we have set up here though. i Might point out that Yard is quight able to cast Bulls and what not on himself, at least i think he is. Katrien is a bard isent she? Sooo. bards can cast Mass Haste too.. cant they? Oh yea and dont the drow and whatever down there have +5 weapons.. or something? Kinda makes Stone Skin a waist of slots if they do, though its still helpful against some spells and lesser monsters we might find..

I need to know if you cant come atleast 4 hours before we supposed to meet Mith, so I can find a replacement. If you dont say anything, I'll asume you can go, otherwise let me know.
Yes Yard can cast his own bulls, he can also cast stoneskin and alot of otherspells. But Yard is treated to being a fighter, so he will taken care of. I want equal, or close to equal conditions for the figthers. And Katrien is being treated aswell. If she can cast ekstra spells when we need them in battle, buts its up to the mages to make sure she dont have to. And yes most things have +5 weapons downthere, but many things rely on basic psysical damage and stoneskin is the best to absorb that up. Stoneskin is never a waist, especially not if your fighting one particuliar monster. I hope that cleared up some things.

Is this really realistic considering he said he will be at work and often people can't pop on at work or even know if they are going to get out on time until the last minute?

I dont force people to come, I dont take them away from work. But if they -do- sign up I want to be able to have them know if they can come or not. I have all the respect for RL and work, and I realice that something unexpected can happen. But as I said, Ive gotten lots of PM's for this trip, and I could have picked someone else instead. Therefore i would appreciate a tell from him, so I myself have a reasonable time to find a new person to fill his time. 4 hours is quite a short time to say your not coming anyway. But I want to give him as much time as possible.

This bard does not have Mass Haste.  My general party role is usually sing... stay out of the way...sing... poke a few arrows... sing... dump healing as necessary till a healer can get to 'em  ... sing..

I'm terribly sorry, but Gunther wont be able to make it after all.  I really wanted to go too.  RL reared its ugly head and intervened however.  Speaking of which I'll pretty much be incommunicado all next week also.

I apologize for joining up one day and bailing out the next, I know its a pain.

Just a couple of quick comments on the battle plan.  With Spell resistance, since it is level dependent I would suggest having the highest level cleric cast as many of the SR's as possible.  Especially for the people that might get killed quick by a couple of spells.  I acknowledge that each of these takes away a heal spell so it needs to be spread a bit so just a suggestion.  I have seen the combination of bard song and curse song together give a huge advantage against the hard to hit monsters.  Just a thought to keep in mind.

If you notice Ive gotten the highest level fighters get Athus spellresistance, then the next highest get yours. and then last the mages and bard get Voons as we wont be in the middle of battle. I think this is the best way to spred it out. But im open to ideas, and if it turns out theres a better way to cover 12 people with spell resistance, let me know.

I suggest many more frontliners sign up for this trip, and were abit short on clerics aswell. But I may have to cut some mages as the number is getting to high. The final party will be anounced 12 hours before we start so we have a chance to make a plan. But any frontliner signing up now, are garanteed a spot.

If your thinking of joining the trip, you better be a cleric. All other spots are now taken. I wont say by who yet, but you dont have much a chance to join if your not a cleric. I thank you all for the interest.

Unfortunately I won't be able to participate after all. Things have come up that will require my attention. So regretfully, unavoidable but regretfully nonetheless, I can not spare the time for an expedition of this scale. I'm sure there will be plenty of mages available, so I'm sure I won't be missed. I do want to wish you good luck and may you find fortune halfway of the journey and not at the end.    In other words, do come back alive.  Ðaeron Stormcloud

Never thought it is possible to be short on clerics...rogues, barbarians, rangers...maybe, but clerics? Something is wrong here.
