*this is written in small juddery handwriting, as though the writer was is a state of shock*
Recently (as some of you may allready know), there was a dire-wolf beast in Hlint, it chased a fellow Brownie and i, attempting to eat us, eventually we hid in a tree.
but what if we hadn't been so lucky, the fact is that captain Garent could have stopped the Beasts at any time, but instead chose to ignore our cries for help.
and when he did, EVENTUALLY, venture towards us, his only concern was for a bin under threat of fire, a bin!, he sees a bin of more worth than a living soul, A BIN!
when his attentions FINALLY turned to me, his was not only unsimpathetic but also insulting!
*the writing seems to be less juddery now*
this is a pettition to have this SCUMBAG removed from Hlint, may Prunilla have less mercy on him than i!
-
// You know very well that Garent is an NPC and he would have acted had there been a GM online to control him. Unfortunately it seems that there was no GM around, so why not just be realistic and RP that he did act on it? Of course he would have chased the beast out of town, but the AI only allows for so much.
-
// *laughs* Actually, there was a DM on who did take control of Garent... all that happened with Garent under the control of a DM.
-
//The "NPC" was a player's Animal Companion; why would Garent get too worked up? Besides, he's getting old... *Snicker.*
You brownies really need to write a bit larger...
This is an official complaint regarding the conduct of one Drow known as Nepp; he has repeatedly shown lack of good faith towards the denizens of Hlint, this being only the most recent and shocking turn of events. Commanding his pet wolf to attack a group of Quarterlings would have been more than enough to have him hanged in years past, but recent good faith towards the Drow who come peacably to Hlint has raised them above simply being killed on sight. However, Nepp has repeatedly harassed people of Hlint, and his banishment, at the very least, is called for.
This lawlessness has gone on long enough; much more of this blatant disregard of the people's goodwill, and the drow as a whole will lose it, making many peacable Hlintan drow the target of growing hostility.
Let the law mete out justice, or, mark these words, injustice shall be reaped by all.
*The note is unsigned, though the handwriting is distinctive to those who have seen it before; an angular and easily legible common.*
-
perhaps a drow is the cause of it all, but there were two wolves.........two! Garent directly insulted me!
-
*the text is in dark black and flowing script it is very similar to the un signed note on the board*
You are blind to your fate! and will pay with blood! throw this drow and all othersfrom the town or you shall perish under the black blades of the underdark!
*there is no signiture*
-
*A small note is hung up underneath, invery small handwriting.*
It is true that the drow fellow, who I laterdiscoverediscalled Nepp, commandeda wolf to attack me and another of my kin. While Garent was questioning witnesses, he was sitting by a tree with another wolf, almost identical to the first - a wolf he openly admitted was his.
-
i t is all true.
i am also especially affected by this because my family was massacred by canines.
-
*The following is written in a flowing hand*
I too would echo the earlier sentiments regarding this drow in particular. Whether or not the it can be proved wether it was his wolf or not, the fact remains Nepp was un-cooperative with the investigation that ensued and seemed to enjoy provoking the others gathered. Not to say it was not entirely enjoyable to watch of course, but even so those brownies were scared half to death! Not to mention my new goblin aquiantence who hid himself in the tree.
I would request the actions of this drow in particular be monitored somewhat, lest Hlint desend into utter chaos again.
Remember: A little chaos is good for the spirit but too much and you usually find yourself dead or dieing.
*Karn nod's sage like then leaves*
-
* Written in big letters with a piece of charcoal across all earlier posts, making them more of less unreadable. *
AFTER CENTURIES OF CONTINOUS ATTACKS BY THE DROW THE PEOPLE OF HLINT SHOULD HAVE LEARNED NOT TO TRUST A DROW, UNLESS HE OR SHE MANAGES TO GAIN YOUR TRUST AND THEREBY DEMONSTRATE THAT HE OR SHE IS IN FACT ONE OF THE VERY FEW DROW WHO HAVE CHOSEN THE LIGHT OVER DARKNESS.
FOR PEOPLE WHO BRING THEIR WOLVES, SMALL DRAKES, PANTHERS, HELLHOUNDS, GOLEMSOR OTHER BEASTS INTO TOWN THEY SHOULD KNOW BETTER AND SHOULD NOT BE SURPRISED IF GARENT JUDGES THEM A DANGER TO THE COMMONERS AND CHILDREN IN TOWN AND SLAYS THEM. YOU MAY CLAIM THAT YOU CONTROL THEM, BUT THAT MATTERS LITTLE IF YOU CONSIDER THE DANGER. KEEP THEM OUT OF TOWN WHERE THEY BELONG.
DISCUSSIONS SUCH AS THESE LEAD NO WHERE. THERE ARE THOSE WHO ARE BLIND TO THE REALITIES AND STAY BLIND EVEN THOUGH THEY TRAVEL THE LANDS FOR YEARS AND EXPERIENCE FIRST HAND WHAT THE DROW, GIANTS AND GOBLINOIDS ARE CAPABLE OF. IT SEEMS THAT SOME PEOPLE INSIST ON WAITING UNTIL IT IS TOO LATE.

*A trail of sand leads to the message bord*
Oh my goddess. If what you people are writing is true then something must be unsaid. I know Nepp, as he is like a blood brother to me. That being said, I know that if he did order his wolfy to attack, then it was because you insulted him, and he was just trying to scare you. I am not defending his acused actions, so please don't argue with me about this point. You see, we drow have a hard time. As we are feared, insulted, and slandered by the people of the surface, we are also hated and hunted by the drow of the underdark. We do not get any credit from the people of the surface for his fact. Many of us betrayed our own family members, because we recognized our own people for the evil they are. We then chose to flee the underdark, to escape this great evil, and to live a different life.
For years now I have tried to convince Nepp that pulling out swords is not a good way to handle insults. Actually, it undermines my efforts to promote the idea that people should be judged as individuals, and not by race. We all encounter many fair elfs, halflings, dwarfs, and especially humans, that are vile and evil beings. Never do we question their race. Why do we judge the evil people of these races as individuals, and not all races? Can you not see that this is a double standard? That being said, yes I do realize that 999 out of 1000 dark elfs will cut your throat for a bag of greenstone dust.
Nepp is an individual to the extreme. I know what he has been through to get where he is today. I know that his life has been a never ending struggle. I say, you should walk a mile in his shoes before you talk of banishing him. Perhaps you could do better, but most likely you would be dead in the underdark somewhere.

Ael is seen quietly perusing the notices at the Surge; these posts catch his eye and he carefully removes them all, taking them to a nearby table. There he sits and thoroughly reads them, making some notes to himself before affixing them back where he found them. Observers see neither reaction nor emotion from Ael as he focuses intently upon whatever work he is doing. After returning these notes to their original place, he departs, fading into the evening shadows.

Sorry, but it is hard for me to beleive you drow have a hard time, especially since you have been allowed to walk into this inn and post your message without being stopped by a guard. I am in agreement with Kobal Bluntaxe - people fail to see what the drow are capable of when trusted so easily.

A figure clad in a black and gold mask and hooded from neck to toe in a black robe, heis holding a staff and leans on it as he walks but with relative silenceslipsinto the inn unoticed and peers up at the board in the dim light of the inn. He takes the notes and retreats silently to a corner table while the few patrons drown their sorrows in their mugs. A small grin creaps onto his solemn face as he reads the words contained on them.
*in a low whisper* small writing but such large meaning it seems i need to speak with the ones of this fray...
An onlooker would see the robed man place the papers inside his robe, a few murmerd words would be heard and then nothing would be seen in the dim half lightand the onlooker would stare at the bottle he was drinking from in confusion and then walk off unstably toward the bar, past the notice board were the papers the strange man was reading were replaced at the front of the board, no signed note added.

Yer all barmy.
Key was here.

*a slender elven woman steps up and reads the notes, screams loudly. When the screaming stops, she looks very angry about the notes, leaving one of her own*
If ya'll can't control yourselves, then take it outside of the city walls. I cannot believe that a wolf was made to attack common people. If my Avane is taken from me, there will be DIRE consequences for all involved! As one the dragon summoned, I am here to protect the lands surrounding Hlint, and I may not ever like to see a drow again!

//if we see this going on in town, are we allowed to kill the possesed creature involved, or is that considered PvP? cause if I was there, I think I would have drew my bow on it//

*nepp saunters up, flips throught the notes chuckling*
It seems people cant remember the correct facts. Here. let me help you all out.
1) It wasnt a companion chasing the brownies from what I saw.Looked like a summon, nor did I see it attack anyone
2) I only saw the near end when it dissapeared, then the incident with Izzy. Then I called my wolf from sielwood to come to my side.
3) I dont give a flying hoot what you people say or think. Life is short, have fun before ya meet the soul mommy for the last time.
4) Order is so boring. Chaos and controlled disorder or more fun.
5) I have Governments. Anarchy is so much more fun. Individuals over the dumb masses.
You got a problem with me? Then lets meet in the arena, and I'll bury my sword in your skull.
*signed nepp, with a detailed description of giving the laughing hand*

In the same angular hand as before...
My vote is changed from banishment to death. Or at least a severe beating.
And then banishment.

That is PvP, and you can get into truble doing it.

* Kobal is seen to read Nepp's answers. He is obviously angered by them and in a rage he rips the poster from the wall and throws it into a trashcan. He takes out a blank piece of parchment and writes... *
To the drow Nepp.
I will meet you in the arena.

*eyes Kobals note and grins wide*
Well that will be a nice quick show, but i alwese injoy watching that dwarf fight, almost insperatinal. I do hope there will be an announced time for the amsument.
-
*Reading through the posts, the guised woman in a golden armor suit attach a note of her own*
As one that has been there to see this all with her own eyes, I see it only fit to have the drow named "Nepp" to be thrown in jail, or banned from within the city walls. Not only did he clearly announce that he would love to burn the town to the ground, he also raised his swords at me and another that were trying to make sense of the chaos.
Drows should be banned from this city completely if not captured and caged, and only a slight few should be allowed in after being proven right. Why should we risk our lives and the lives of the citizens of Hilnt any longer with more incidents like this?
Iz, of the temple in Fort Llast. *A small ankh symbol was printed in the end of the message*
-
*Yet another note in the same tiny writing.*
I am in agreement with the majority. If there is anything left of the drow after he has faced the mighty Kobal Bluntaxe, he shouldface banishment - or worse.
-
i agree, if the drow is behind my distress then he should suffer the full blow of fate.
end him slowly Bluntaxe!
-
*with no noise, unseen nepp walks up to the notes and scribbles*
I told ya the facts. Only had a problem with Izzy, Something isnt right with that person. Hiding something. Kinda reminds me of where I grew up..cant put a finger on it.
by the longstrider what humourless knaves. Prince of wolves, show these people how to laugh.
*With a quick sloppy humour laden grin, he takes out some bright yellow paint and a brush, without anyone seeing, writes "Nepp rules!" across all the notices and the departs*
-
Ash scurries through the Surge, dragging a bag of corn behind her.
She whispers, "My gods. When will he grow up?"

*Written in delicate handwriting below the letter above*
I have told all of you fools that Drow can not be trusted. Is it worth opening the door to one Drow you think you can trust, so that one thousand other Drow can follow behind that one and slaughter your children in their sleep? You are fools, all of you.
My advice for dealing with Drow is to keep your dealings as one of profit and gain. Barter and trade from a distance. Or you can always open your doors and lower your guards and fill the crypts of Hlint. I think the choice would be simple...

*Written below the Post of Cymeran*
You are a wolf in sheep’s clothing and these fools let you in their flocks with open arms. It amuses me how you curse the Drow you run from, then lump yourself with those same Drow in your twisted web of hypocrisy. You are hated and hunted by the Drow of the Underdark because of your betrayal. You once stood by those very same Drow slaughtering the surfaces races, and now because you grew bored and claim to be “good” you expect races of the surface to forget your past? You are pathetic.
Your letter cries for understanding and credit to be given to you from the surfaces races and yet in the same letter you write how you have betrayed your own? Only a fool would open their arms to an enemy who has just betrayed their own kind. If one will turn their back on their family and then slaughter them shortly after, why would anyone dare be foolish enough to not expect them to do the same again?
What credit do you think you deserve? You say your family was evil and you have seen the error of your ways? The fact remains you stood beside your family and committed those same “errors”. You participated in the slaughter of the very same Dalthir you now run to begging forgiveness. You are a hypocrite and a true definition of evil. When you are done with the surface races, or grow bored of them, you will deem them “evil” and slaughter them in their sleep, then run back to the underdark pleading for understanding and credit for your deeds. The only difference is the Drow of your homelands are not fools and will not open their homes to your treachery in the manner that these foolish surface races have done. Your homelands will not be tricked again in the manner you are deceiving the surface races. Your web of lies is just beginning to surface.
You say, “999 out of 1000 Drow will cut your throat for a bag of green dust”. By your own hand you give the odds to the surface races. My advice to those reading this and to the surfaces races is simple. Just look at the odds and the words written here by this Priest of Az’atta. This priest has admitted to slaughtering his own because he no longer wanted to be like them. Were they evil? Does it matter when you take into account this Priest committed those same acts and goes unpunished for his crimes? What will happen when this Priest of Az’atta no longer wants to be like you? It is said that history has a way of repeating itself. This Priest of Az’atta, by his own words has given you the odds. Now I am not a betting fool, but even I can see those odds are not in my favor. If I had children, I would not take those odds and open my home. Those odds, by this Priests very word, are not worth the risk of burying my family.
