Yesterday Elrend Starfire, grey elf sorceror, fell while waging a battle of epic proportions against some Forest Giant Fellers of the Broken Glade Clan (ok maybe not epic but these guys are big =D). He became overconfident as he can usually beat them but they got some lucky hits and Elrend fell. As the last bits of life left him he felt the Soul Mother touch him yet again. He had felt this before no small number of times but this time he was met with the strange feeling that he would never return. Now he dwells in the Plane of the Lost (I think at least that that is where the Soul Mother is from if not replace it with wherever she is from) forever seeking a way out but never to find one his soul will travel the great nothingness for all eternity. Thus ends the tragic shred of a life that was Elrend.
-
This is sad to hear, though not unexpected. Elrend always lived his life beyond the call of a Hero, beyond the call of the living, beyond the call of the dragon. A Palemaster that lived a life beyond the call of death. A necromancer that could easily be called evil, but those who knew him became enlightened enough to call him ..friend. His thoughts and deeds (as much as they can be known) will be writen in the Libra Prima.
Until we meet again,
Sh'anda Discore,
A friend of the Starfire.

Ash shakes her head.
"No.. c-can't be. He was too brave.. I told him to be careful, didn't I? Did I give him one last hug?" She sighs and lowers her head, "May his soul find peace, wherever it may roam."
-
*Ireth hears the news and thinks to herself*
Ah, one less Palemaster can only be a good thing for the world.

If you followed a god (and had no fallen out of favor) you would now reside in that deity's domain.
If you followed no god a god -could- still speak for you and bring you to their plane. otherwise you're stuck on the plane of the lost with the soul mother... she probably does something awful to you.
-
Zan will certainly miss him, palemaster or not.
-
*Malor seeing the news is dumbstruck*
Ahh Elrend,May you find some kind of peace.I will pray to Lucinda to take you in her bussom.
*walks off weeping*
-
*stunned scilence is all Jser has to offer*
Elrend?.......Gone?
-
*nepp reads it and shakes his head*
didnt know him well, seemed ok. *shrugs* oh well, he was a fun guy. hope he doesnt have eternal tea with the soul mommy.
-
*A dark robe figured reads the letter and whispers to himself*
You were fool in life... Misguided, but full of talent. A shame...
*The dark robed figure turns and walks away without another word or thought*
// Sucks man!!! Daralith actually "tollerated" Elrend =P

Elgon reads the note: stumbles back with shock...drinks a brew..and reads it again.
*thinks to himself* "He was my friend and fellow adventurer, I will miss him dearly".
No matter what others thought of him, palemaster or whatever, he was my friend.
*hangs his head* *walks away mumbling to himself*
Dear friend i may be joining you myself soon...i have but one visit from the Soul Mother left.
I better have a drink.

A hooded figure in white robes stands there, leaning on her staff and murmuring for herself:
Such is the way of the Great Cycle. One should value the few moments one has in life. It is, after all, the greatest gift given to us by the gods...
-
*The barbarian woman raises her glass and shouts her speech somewhat slurred, disturbing the other patrons in the town*
Elrend, may the Great Elk guide you friend of Karana, and may yous magics crackles in the heavens. You always liked the hunt and quest mores than a quiet life and was good companion
*with that she hurls the glass hard into the back of the fireplace, smashing with remaining liquor in it flaring brightly before dieing to quickly, much like the life of her friend*
-
*Lindel bows his head deep*
You were great Elrend, strong and brave and a good leader, I'll remember you always. Maybe we'll meet again someday.
-
I met you but a few times, and they were memorable trips.
I spoke with you even fewer, but I saw a kind soul.
If the gods watch over you half as closly as you looked after those around you, the afterlife will hold nothing for you to fear.

((OOC
I'm very sorry I never got to travel with Elrend as The Whisper's Head of Security. I had high hopes of interrogating those dreaded wood-guarding rangers.
I hope that someone that knew your PC better writes something for the newsletter.

*Eredel sees the note a ponders a moment*
No surprise. Elrend lived a life of adventure for certain. Always taking risk to the extreme, rarely being cautious. Although he did teach me many things in our travels and for that I am forever grateful to him. I pray that he may find rest in the afterlife.
*Lowers his head and wanders off*

///// alright! a new member of the Black Hole Tavern (commonly known as the Void)! ;-)
-
Any thoughts on how we can ship ale and pies to the Black Hole Tavern, or does the soul mother provide?
