Ok, so the new cloaks are neat, and all...but I am unable to change the appearance except to an ugly plain one. Is there any way a DM can change it to a different look...or am I out of luck. Also, I thought they were supposed to be fully animated...mine is like a board, just like the old ones. What's the news on that one?

I suggest reading over this thread: http://www.layonaraonline.com/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=29560 (http://thread-view.asp?tid=29560)
Also, in a patch (coming soon) I'll have a function in place to get rid of the default cloak appearance for the newly remade one. Unfortunately, true cloak customization will have to wait until 1.69 from Bioware.
For now, however, you can dye them.

Ok, noted. But the fact still remains that my cloak isn't animated. It was stiff as a board.
-
Do you still have a neck-based cloak configured in your armor?
-
The animations work fine on human males, not sure about the other races of Layo, but I don't have any animation for my elven female char. It is stiff.
-
I do not have a neck-based cloack on my character.

Bioware Cloaks are invisible on Brownies. I had to switch back to neck cloak.

Bioware would not supply a cloak model for brownies, as they are not standard races/models. If we find some that are compatible, I don't see a reason to not include them, but until that happens, they won't work.
I would say the same applies to half-giants, wemics and anything else custom we have.

OK all, due to the hard work of Lord of the Forest in tracking this down, the cause of the cloak animations was determined and should now be fixed.
You will need to re-download one of the HAK files, but it's not the big one, mercifully.
Download: layov2_2da_v26.rar (http://nwn.layonara.com/downloads/files/layov2_2da_v26.rar)
As usual, download and un-RAR this file into your NWN .\\hak folder.
Also note, if you are overriding any of your combat animations, the cloak animations may also fail. If this HAK change does not work for you, you may need to consider removing items from your override folder.
