This isn't exactly a website login problem, so I'll put this here instead of the other forum. Sometimes when I click on a link within a thread, I'll be sent to a page that says:
This section of the BBS is restricted to specific user accounts. Please return to the BBS.
It's not all links that bring this up, most recently it was both links in the sticky thread 'level limit list for items' higher in this forum, and there have been a few times when I was trying to view a photo album linked from a thread. I am of course logged into the forums, so I'm not sure what's going on. any help would be great!

Explanation 1: It's because some people use http://www.layonaonline.com and others use layonara.com. If you use the former, and somebody else posts a link with the latter, you're not logged in anymore.
Explanation 2: It is really in a restirceted area, like the GM forums, but I doubt there's links linking to there.
It's probably #1, where you're coming from http://layonara.com

so then, do i need to log in on both layonaraonline.com and layonara.com to avoid this? I actually login from layonaraonline.com, or rather, I did originally. I leave the account logged in cuz I don't share my 'puter *evil grin*

Ed mispoke.. er typed slightly. The issue results from dropping the www
http://www.layonaraonline.com
vs
http://layonaraonline.com
Try to use the one with www as its the one most everyone uses

Just as an FYI; both the http://www.layonaraonline.com and layonaraonline.com are the same site, have an account on one? you've got it for both.
The precise problem is to do with the browser cookie. If you login to http://www.layonaraonline.com a cookie is set in your browser for the http://www.layonaraonline.com domain only (and this is the way things are supposed to work).
So, the best solution to the problem is when you get a restricted page like that; simply double check it's the same domain used as the one you've logged in with. If it's not, just add (or remove it as the case may be) the "www." to it and you should be good to go.

Ah, good explanation guys, thanks!
