Title: Kyoro; Change of Heart.
Post by: Chnmmr on November 17, 2006, 05:07:52 PM
Things change a woman... the people you speak to, the emotions you feel, the incidents your eyes behold...  All shape a person.

Through her time in the lands of Minstone she has seen things she never saw in her home land in the far noth.  The slaughter, the culling... the destruction of animals, plants and such for personal gain at the hands of crafters and adventurers.  The lack of appreciation for nature started to trully get to Kyoro and was greatly aggrevating her.

Each incident below is but a chip among many in the reforming of her beliefs...

It started as a trip to the haven mines.  Someone needed a single iron ingot, and Kyoro would be their guide.  As a warning she told those to travel to leave the deer be and allow herself to handle them.  Expecting the travellers to be intelligent people she travelled with them.  To her great distaste, one ran ahead of the group and waited until Kyoro saw the deer before hacking it down right before her.  A simple request to leave the deer be... denied to her.  And so... after warning the ogres of the arrival of the group, she returned to the deer herd and cast stone skin on each and every one of them.  The deer would not be killed this day.

*Kyoro thinks sadly as she walks away from the corpses of three lions she just witnessed being coldly slain.*

And again it happens... I agree to escort people through the wilds in return for them leaving the animals be.  Once again a fool rushes ahead and kills the animals in their path.  Why are people so cold and heatless?  Do they not care for life in any shape or form?  How sad it is that people who depend on the wild for their furs, metals and minerals care nothing for its inhabitants...

Must I take a human's life for each animal killed coldly by a human?  One must wonder...

Things change all the time.  Her anger at the way things were in the region quieter, less fanatical.  She grew calmer and understood one of the wiser dictates of the Katian faith; simply change takes time.  She was comming to understand that as the more people she talked to the more people slowly understood her and her words.  Every day she would walk the woods and swamps of the land, tending the trees that were ill from the lack of sunlight and warmth.  She would find animals thin from hunger and would provide them with what food she had to help them stave hunger off for another day.  It was a sad sight, but she had to keep going.

Then he came, a man, human no less whose mere pressence made Kyoro act all girly as she was before she truly saw the state of this land.  Pyyran was his name, and she was growing very fond of him.  She only wished she could tell if he felt the same as well.
