Title: Quarterstaffs for Halflings & Smaller Races

I was asked tonight to make a oak quarterstaff for a halfling. I did so then it turns out he cannot equip it.  It would seem logical that a woodcrafer could make a halfling size quarterstaff just like he can a short oak bow.  Would this be possible to do in a practicle sense?  If so be nice to have it in all the wood varieties.

Technically, a club is a wooden two-handed weapon for a "small" race, so from a mechanics standpoint, there's no need for a demi-quarterstaff (eighthstaff?) other than for appearances.

Also for the purpose of using Blackstaff.  A club does not count as a quarterstaff for the purposes of that spell, making it all but useless for halfling and gnome sorcerers/wizards except to cast it on their medium-sized quarterstaff-weilding allies.

Note:  staffs with the base type "Magical Staff" do *not* work with Blackstaff.

Try a Staff of the Hierophant.  A human can equip it with a shield, so it's probably 2 handed for smaller races.

Probably but the point of the thread is be nice to craft it especially when can work mahogany so get +2 enhancement.

As said hafling that tried to purchase the staff ifind it one of those well duh why not things people try to glze over here......you saying craftsmen are to stupid to make a short staff.....or is thier some other reason halflings are discriminated agains't......this is a glaring prejudice that should be fixed, or all halfling slingers should be able to change race to make up for this obvious discrimination........or even better to make up for this a class of staffs that only the smaller races can use.........really powerful ones .....like the long legs shake in our faces and laugh that we'll never be able to wield.


I like the idea of a staff of diminution, were we could shrink those pesty long legs down to our size were we could bop them on the head.....and make it last like a year so they know what it is like to be a sensible hieght for a change
