Title: Nature in Layonara
Post by: Chnmmr on November 24, 2006, 03:46:46 AM
Something I have been trying to find information and about and have failed miserable.  Just -what- is the state of nature in Layonara right now?  Are things slowly dying because of the lack of light, or is nature basically not caring?

I doubt nature doesn't care. Unless there is some form of magical blessing provided locally by one of the dieties, I think it best to assume that it is reacting just the way you'd expect. The plants that are dependant on light are likely wilting and the animals that depend on those plants are probably thinning, ect, ect. The whole chain progresses. Though I'm sure there are many plants that are less dependant on direct sunlight and those are likely to grow rampantly now that the other, more dominant plants are begining to fail. But thats just my assumption. Maybe things are different from what you'd expect due to whatever reasons.

A month passes and the leaves from trees begin to fall as if it was Autumn’s Harvest and plants begin to wilt and fade as if were Winter Deep, or as the goblins call it ‘Famine’. With the passing of the green leaved plants the wildlife in the world begins to die off and as the smaller animals pass on the larger animals have less to eat and they themselves begin to pass on or invade the civilized areas in order to survive. While it is not a deep freeze it does get cold enough to cause pain and suffering across the entire world and with that comes the horror and fear of survival in a world where there is not enough to eat. Not all plants and animals die off but the living conditions are much more difficult than any have seen before and nature is the first to feel the effects.

Nothing to add to Acacea's post, it's rather bad (but updating over a thousand areas to reflect this is a bit much).

Lol. I dont know about everyone else but expecting you to even attempt to update even some of the area's would be asking way to much. I mean the condition is probably going to be temporary, though the definition of temporary can be a little vauge. But still, it is nothing that cant be rped and there's a server message reminding you every time you log in. That should be enough for everyone to work with. At least I'd think.

A server message is a -very- good idea, I love it :)

Well, there already IS a server message, but perhaps it could be tweaked a bit to remind people of the effects on nature.

There has been a server message ever since it happened...
