It is 7:00 AM Sunday morning, 12/31/2006. Kayla was traveling with Gravas, Boon, and Rugo. We were on central traveling in the Kingdom of Roldem - Sildom (the area with the elder earth elementals). We have just kiled them when the server crashed. I am just afraid when the group comes back into the game, we will be right in the middle of a tragedy about to happen. Just posting to see if anyone can see and witness this. If too late then I guess best of luck to all of us.

Also notice that West and East crashed too. Major wipe out for all three servers.

The servers where going down for reset
-
Please disregard. The group made it out alive.

Ivantheho, I sent at least a half dozen messages on each of the servers that it was a quick reboot to help with lag today. Not much more than I can do. :)
I am glad everybody made it out alive.

L just an observation. Since the update the server messages for reboots and such when not "shouts" appears grey, its easy to miss them. I know that myself i have missed a few and it was only by seeing a lot of people log out that I understood what was happening.
-
I can second that L. You can easily miss an announcement about a reset when it's the grey text on the right. Like Hellblazer...I realize a reset is coming when people start logging off in a hurry.
-
Even shouts can be missed because people minimize their chat windows or ignore them completely.
There's only so much we can do to get your attention short of going to each and every one of you, appearing and telling you to log off. That's not always practical, so just keep things like that in mind. Sometimes we can't necessarily get in-game to make the shouts, so server messages have to suffice.
One time a few weeks ago, I had to literally chase someone down who ignored shouts and ignored tells. Given what the character was doing at the time, he's quite lucky I did that.
-
OH wow I did not realize the server was going to be reset. All four of us totally missed the announcement. I am usually REALLY good with those things (message from GM about logging out for reset). I always play with the chat windows open and the 'SHOUT' usually get my attention. Just glad we didn't die :)

Ooh... I have an idea!
What if the first person relays the "Server Reset" message with shout? I.e. if you see the server reset message and you haven't seen anyone else write a shout message about it, you do that? :)
And quickly log out afterwards, of course. Unless you want to get smited by a DM for using the shout channel. ;)

Next time you're online, try shouting. ;)
It's been disabled for players. We used to have a problem with people using it either purposefully, or accidentally by putting macroed text in hotkeys.

Sounds pretty good Weeblie. Except make it a world leader who does the shout if they see a server message. I have missed the gray text before also. I have never been hurt by it though. OR just send a tell to someone about the server message, then that person sends a tell. Like a chain letter, "resend this or you will wake up from a dream in the middle of a large group of trolls".
