I'd like to initiate a discussion on the length of Shadow Evade (http://nwn.layonara.com/Shadow%20Evade). Currently it is limited to five rounds, or 30 seconds. What do you think about extending the duration?
-
My understanding is that it's meant for evading, but not a long-term benefit.
What would you suggest as a different duration? And why?
-
I would recommend round/level so that it is in line with nearly every other special ability or powerful defensive spell in the game.
-
I would second that as it makes sense and I don't think it horribly tips the balance out considering how many people go to 10 or higher in SD. It does offer a reason though to go higher in SD. At 10 SD (pre-epic max) you still only have double what it is now. If you went epic in SD, then you could get it up to triple or quadruple and still not be that unbalanced considering the types of things you might be fighting.

This was upgraded to round/SD level a long time ago, guess LORE/TLK just needs updating.

Thanks orth. :)

Yay orth! I guess I just didn't notice the 7 vs 5 round difference but then again I don't use it that often. But knowing that, it could change the future, assuming one survives :)

Just to make sure I understand correctly (so that LORE can be updated correctly), Shadow Evade will last for 5 rounds when it is first gained at level 4 of Shadowdancer. At level 5 of Shadowdancer, Shadow Evade still lasts for 5 rounds. After that, the duration is 1 round per Shadowdancer level (i.e., 6 rounds at level 6, 7 rounds at level 7, etc.)?

That's correct Boxcar.

Thanks! LORE has been updated.
