I would like to thank you for this weekend. I saw a ton of people out having fun, I personally got to meet the King of the Ulgrids (and almost offend him as well :P) and got rewarded for good RP (thanks Dorg and Row!) as did others in parties I was with, and I got to ding Corba 10 too. It was fun, it was crazy, it was mighty darn generous of you. If you too wish to thank the team, join in. IF YOU WISH TO DEBATE RP VS BASH, OR EXPRESS YOUR ANGER AT (your peeve here), PLEASE START A SEPARATE POST. I would like to keep this to the sincere thanks for a team that was flexible enough to try something new, and kind enough to reward an entire community for their time in game. Thanks!

Agreed. One of the many positives that came from this weekend was that I was fortunate to meet people that I had never seen log in before. I had some really enjoyable RP with some incredibly fun people. Thanks all!
-
I was pleasantly surprised to find some rp in Berhagen this weekend and enjoyed it immensely. The x2 xp was way more than a few giants. That didn't stop me or any others from romping through Dregar a few..hundred times. Thank you to the team!
-
yep! it was fun :)
thanks!
-
ya thansk alot guys. it was awesome. This whole weekend really got people to play and want to get out to others, i met alot of people through the weekend and had alot of good rp situations. thanks alot fo this weekends =D
-
Yep agreed thanks for a fun weekended, and thanks to silverclaw for the neat light elemental. Even if it had us pulling out hairs, when it followed us around like a puppy :P
-
Yeppers, lots of fun and Zup go to get to know a lot of people and travel to new places for Zup. Definitely a fun time. I was pleasantly suprised at how well Central held up considering the sheer number of players that were on it. Definitely fun and a great time to RP with lots of people I will not normally meet due to time differences.
Question for you though...what was the death count in the rift for the weekend? ;)
-
well hmmm how to say this... The xp was surely great, and gave Zan a very very big boost towards lvl 14, but what I mostly enjoyed was a very good quest by Harlas with some very good players, where I really had a chance to use the skills of a shadowdancer.

The lag was crazy. :P

@Weeblie, Please reread the opening post. Please consider what you have to say before posting.
Yes, last weekend was one of the top ten moments I've had IG. People everywhere! An absolute blast. Never a dull moment with nothing to do, I came dangerously close to falling asleep at my keyboard ;)
Thanks again.

I totally stayed up all night on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It was amazing... Lots of great RP, some not as much, and all sorts of chances to meet characters I hadn't in ages... And of course get out the drive to slaughter hundreds and hundreds of monsters.
Didn't even get an SS that weekend... Well. Until after the XP was normal again. *Chuckles.*

Yeah, like to thank Argwen. Not only did he freak the crap out of me with this adamentium master dwarf broegar agent comming into hlint, also for the cursed dagger I now bear..Now i gotta show this dagger to ozy, be nifty it the cursed dagger gave me skeletal wings ;)

I had a great time. I was able to travel with people I otherwise wouldn't, all in the spirit of getting together, and going some place to do stuff. It was fun, and a pinnacle of my gaming here at Layonara in many ways. In otherwise, I had a good time. I got a level. I gained some motivation in a character of mine, and I finally figured out what I want to do with myself here. It was a great time, thank you.

Although the xp was undeniably handy and welcome (me being in the troublesome 'teen' levels), by far the best bit was meeting up and adventuring with some characters that in the 8 months I have been playing have never before encountered/interacted.
Thanks to everyone that added to the weekend fun.
-
I second that thank you. I have never in my life seen anything like it. Of course Layo is my first rp to thats probably why. I didn't level like some, didnt get rich like others, but I had a great time. Though lets not do this too often because i am way too old to be staying up all night. And I thank the many of you that let me tag along on trips. It was a ton of fun. I got so stressed at times I wanted to scream, and had such a good time at points that I found myself yelling out loud. Thank gods I live with other layo folk who totally understood lol. I can't even imagine the amount of work you all put in for this, thank you, thank you, thank you.

I had a chance to rp with some characters I haven't seen in awhile...oh I liked the xp too.
Ozy, thanks for the great story. Knew I could count on you to give one of my characters a relaxing yet intensifying story to pass the time.
To all the other great characters that I got to run around and see parts of Dreagar I haven't been to....Thanks...lotta fun and great rp.
and special THANKS...to the GM team for all their hard work this weekend ...had to be crazy with so many aboard and takes alot away from your personal time.
as the Svirfneblin say.."RIWWYR"......(huzzah)

Yes, I did read, re-read and re-re-read the original post before posting as it specifially requested to keep the complaining out of here. You can of course interept my post as such, though my original idea was that it would be generally thought as a mood-lighter than a post of complaining (hence the added smiley in the end). :)
One of the good things with the weekend was that I was able to meet a few people who I otherwise would never get the opportunity to, because of the time zone difference. More specifically, there was actually people online in my timezone too. :P

NOOO!!! of all the weekends to miss!
*cries*

Regarding the lag comment: Oh, heck yes it was. Actually I was really surprised and pleased to see how well Central held up; it was like the server was DETERMINED to hold on! "Must...keep....running...ugh..."
I can say that it is the only time, ever, in one year of playing, that I've heard myself say "Let's jump to West because it's LESS laggy!" :P
And does anyone else think Dregar should be empty for a while? :) Every giant, ogre, troll, pirate, formian, scorpion, spider, snake, vampire and malar (oh, especially them) from tip to toe of that continent has been driven to extinction...
"The dust-coated man stepped into the tall cave entrance, sword ready, shield held tight against him. He paused to listen, signaling the others to remain outside a moment; hearing nothing, he waved them in. They walked steadily in formation, fighter and cleric out front, rogue and spellcaster behind. Reaching the first of the large caverns, they tensed, the spellslinger muttering words of the Weave, the rogue lifting her bow...and they saw...seven moldering corpses. And nothing else. The walls were spattered with the now-dry life fluid of the giant humaniods, but none remained standing.
The rogue wandered to the reddish-skinned one, a fire shaman of the giant's tribe, and stared for a moment at the headless, greening body. The loincloth of the corpse was torn to shreds. One lone gold coin remaining in a puddle that was too sticky to retrieve. She strained her ears, listening for the trodding of heavy feet, and heard only the drone of flies and a soft dripping noise...."

Like I said. SICK NASTY! I loved it. :D Thank you guys it was awesome!! ;)
-
Thanks to the GMs for GM'ing and "patrolling" while sacrificing playing their own characters. It is truly an unselfish act for the sake of the community.

hehe I agree but my first thought in relation to this is....."oh oh, their revenge is going to be...NASTY!"
However I must say that this was a very generous thing for Leanthar to do for everyone, not only did people get out and see the world that people have spent so much time and effort to create, they got together, they interacted, they RP'ed, they lived, they died, they got gold, they lost gold etc etc.
For others who don't play much it was an opportunity to earn some xp and gold and maybe a level or two in a short time compared to how they would otherwise normally achieve these things even while they engaged in RP and such.
With all the people I saw on I was very much encouraged by their actions, their RP and their whole demeanor.
Well done everyone and thank you Leanthar.

I heartilly agree and support the thanks being given to Leanthar and all the volunteers and players who helped make this a great place to play all weekend, and all the days leading up to and after it.
-
A big thanks to Leanthar and all the GMs who made that incredible weekend possible. I'm still recovering. Send some tangible thanks, folks--a donation is a great thank you card.

It was a great weekend. I met a whole lot of people and got to go adventuring in places that would have taken me much longer to do if it hadn't been for the special event. Thank you.
