I was thinking - why stop Garent and the rest from being hostile to an Orc/other nasty pc entering town?...
Perhaps in V3 if such a beastie was to approach Hlint (or the other starting town of good/normal folk) it would be attacked on sight by guards - unless it carries a token of approval... which can be achived via CDQ or so :O

Something like this was talked about a long long time ago, about faction tokens, druids being friendly to animals, people with treaties with hostile races automatically be considered neutral, or even friendly, or as you said, certain races be hostile towards, rather than friendly by town NPCs.

The problems I can see with this are twofold: First, a drow or tiefling, or even goblin, dressed in concealing robes/clothes/armour/leather would be indistinguishable from your average joe human/halfling. You'd have to have some method of determining that, or else Garent has suddenly become the most brilliant detective in the world. Second, when a bad PC gets powerful enough, he could walk in and slaughter a town's defenders easily. That would be hard to deal with in an RP fashion.
Solutions, anyone?

>.> i hate when things become complex...
I suggest a disguise robe/hood for the first one, that changes your faction - but no answer for the second..
