Title: Journal of Ramone Delaech
Post by: cringe2007 on February 25, 2007, 07:02:45 PM
I recently arrived in hlint and the first thing I did was meet Artemis and Rufius. Artemis seemed to be a very shady character, very sneaky and a little creepy with a cocky attitude, but it doesn't matter to me, I seem to get on with him quite well, I tend to get on well with almost anyone infact, I'm just that type of person. I believe Rufius on the other hand is an entertainer and has been in hlint a little longer then me or Artemis, he appears to be a friendly person and not as cold as Artemis.

Once we introduced our selves we decided to take a look around town for some work to get hold of a little coin to get started and get some equipment. After doing a few simple jobs for various people around hlint and having a little more coin we explored the surrounding areas to get a feel for things.

After looking around a little and exploring the surrounding areas, myself, Artemis and Rufius spoke to the haven castle lord in the keep, he told us of the troubles he was having with some ogres in a nearby cave so we gathered a small army of adventurers and headed into the cave to retrieve the head of their leader, for a reward of course. At that point, for the first time I managed to slice an ogre in two with just one swing of my scythe, I couldn't have been more pleased, although it was rather messy as you could imagine. We managed to crush the ogre's and return to the lord with the ogre cheiftains bloody head as proof of the slaughter. We were all rewarded well, I recieved 850 gold peices which allowed me to finally purchase a decent half plate.. running around with no armour was beginning to get challenging as I was taking many injuries in battle, NO LONGER!

It seems that all the training and hard work that I have endured lately are finally starting to payoff, my skill with the scythe is improving drastically, I find that with every kill I make, I feel more confident and prepared. Rufius and Artemis don't seem to see things my way though, I am often referred to as "Farm Boy" because I used to live on a farm, and becuase my prefered weapon is a gardening tool, it is true that I have a long way to go, but little do they know that one day in the future I shall become a well known Weapon Master.

Today, something rather strange happend, I was travelling along a path near to Fort Velensk
and came across what appeard to be a group of adventurers, we began talking, a couple of
moments into our conversation we all spotted a dark figure rush past us in the darkness,
then shortly afterwards we heard the cries of a distressed man nearby so we decided to
investigate. We all headed into the swamp after the dark figure. The Swamp appeard to be
clear untill we got ambushed by a group of Trolls, moments later I stood upon a bunch of
Troll corpses, green goo dripping off of my scythe. Shortly afterwards, to my surprise
Artemis just appeard out of nowhere, I suspect that he was following us. He tends to be good
at stalking..

We searched the swamp carefully, eventually I spotted a man hanging by his throat from a
tree. Before I had an opportunity to think, an armed drow appeared out of nowhere, and so the battle begun, after fighting long and hard, we lost a couple of people to his blade but
still, we eventually managed to fight him off.

We quickly headed back to Fort Velensk to seek healing from the temple and to inform the
guards of what had happend. The guard said that a couple of drow theives had stolen a boat
and some guards were in pursuit, but it wasn't enough, we had to get onboard a boat and take
chase aswell.

After approximatly fifty minutes of tracking the stolen boat we finally arrived at an
island, we followed what we believed to be tracks untill we spotted a drow and attacked on
sight, the drow took heavy injuries and ran off leaving a trail of blood. The trail led us
to a cave entrance. Once inside we almost immediatly spotted the drow again and cut his
throat. Shortly afterwards a strange noise could be heard, almost as if something was
running towards us, all of a sudden a group of horrid creatures appeared, they very much resembeled spiders but had the upper body of a drow. We fought a bloody battle
finally slicing the final creature into mush. We continued to search the cave and ended up
coming across a prisoner who claimed he was being held captive because he knew of something about secret ruins. We left the cave and decided to go back to hlint, get some rest and medical treatment for a start and then inform the guards of what had happend. Then perhaps we could investigate these ruins the prisoner spoke of.. I look forward to bloodying my scythe again, espically if its drow blood that stains it...
