should faerie fire require a touch attack?
if you going to outline a target so they can be seen from distance why run up to them to touch them then run back to shoot at them
and maybe not be a light spell?
a ghostly visage effect glow without the concealment would be more fitting
and would make people be more wary about why they are glowing until that arrow sticks in their chest

According to the spell description, Faerie Fire (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/faerieFire.htm) is a long-range effect that removes the effect of invisibility, blur, and simple concealment.
I think this could be used as intended if the spellhook was re-written to apply it with a GetShape rather than targeted.

yes i understand the idea and effect is does but its a light spell
and if your not in darkness a lightspell isnt going to do that much
the glowing effect would be more appropriate then to be bathed in pale light
even if its some other vfx anything but light would make more sense
the only example i have of this is from the crystal shard of it even being used
and it outlined his foe right before he turned invisible
to bad the faerie fire(purple flames) gave his outline in plain sight

My point is that this would be a scripting fix. The fact that it's implemented as a Light spell is because there is no Faerie Fire spell, where normally there would be.
I agree with the Ghostly Visage VFX, but I'm not sure there's any way to temporarily suppress the benefit of a spell like Invisibility or Blur.
