Alright... it hardly makes sense to me that each crypt has different types of undead when it's still basiclly a crypt, and by different types I mean variaty in power rather than the actual monster (Like.. Risen Remains being five times as strong as a Skeleton)
Wouldn't it be nice for each crypt that has stronger spawns to include some minor undeadish creatures as well?.. I wouldn't mind seeing swarms of zombies and skeletons along the Bodaks in Storans Crypt, don't think he would mind much either.
Why?
1) Fun factor - let's face it, House of the Dead was fun.
2) Necromantical Outburst (what?) - Wouldn't it make sense to you that when say... Storan... raises a bunch of undead that a few minor ones would be created as a side-effect?
3) CNR... Skeleton Knuckles are yummy and you can't collect them off other skeleton types than...well... skeletons.

I thought knuckles did drop, now?

They do from normal skeletons - last time I checked other types (Risen Remains, Storans Defenders etc etc) don't drop knuckles.

A bit of a balance issue - not in terms of combat difficulty, but in terms of balancing Fun(lots of enemies) with Fun(playable). The more creatures/things/people/*ahem*horses*ahem* in an area, the slower the framerate for those with slower computers.
And even for my lovely little beauty *pats his CPU affectionately*, a large (read: 9 or more) creature spawn will slow things down for a moment. If you spawn a dozen or so zombies ALONG with the bodaks/risen dead/etc., you run the risk of spawn-related lag deaths to the deadlier adversaries. And you know if you've got a cleric in the party (and who wouldn't, if you're going crypt-crawling), that they'd last all of about three seconds until said cleric hit the big "turn" button in their quickbar.
So I don't really see overall benefit (save for that moment of exploding undead) being worth the boost to lag.

And, of course, the extra low-HD undead will make the Cleric's turning ability less effective because they will be affected first. Which will really annoy the party that can essentially one-hit Zombies most of the time anyway.

Which means hunting at the crypts would be a tad harder.. which means it would be better ;)
I hate seeing clerics rush in, turn and rush out :(

In terms of skeleton knuckles I know more powerful skeletal creatures do drop knuckles as I have seen it in another crypt other than the beginner one.
