O.o How do you do it?
Well, here are the basics.
General Requirements:
- Player has played on Layonara for greater then 6 months
- Character wanting to guide has played on Layonara for a consistent 4 month period
- Character is a level they deem appropriate to safely guide
- Player has read the Layonara Handbook
- Player understands the Server Rules and has a good understanding of maintaining server health
If you meet these basic standards, you can apply to a be a guide. From there it's a series of events.
1) PM Acacea (the internet love of my life) with intent to be a guide. There are 4 things I need:
- How long you've played on Layonara
- Character name, level, and alignment
- How long the character has been active
- If you've read the handbook, the server rules, and are regularly active on the forums
2) Your intent is voiced to the exisiting guides and discussed.
3) Running the Guantlet :o
- If selected, a test is prepared/ planned for you to test your aptitude as a guide. It will be fun, and most often challenging.
That's that!

// Just wondering if someone is interested in becoming a guide do we still pm Chongo even though he doesn't seem active? Do you have to be a WL to be one?
-
Being a WL was never a requirement. It just so happened that a lot of those initial guides were WLs (or are by now), though some are still not.
As for who to contact...an excellent question, and one to which I don't have a good answer at the moment.

Acacea set a trip as this for us some weeks ago, Maybe she could know something about it.
Or maybe she could post here about the current situation

If you meet these basic standards, you can apply to a be a guide. From there it's a series of events.
1) PM Chongo with intent to be a guide. There are 4 things I need:
- How long you've played on Layonara - Over 4 years
- Character name, level, and alignment - Benjamin Poetr, lvl 22, Nuetral
- How long the character has been active - Since December 06
- If you've read the handbook, the server rules, and are regularly active on the forums ayep
2) Your intent is voiced to the exisiting guides and discussed. Making that known here since Chongo is no longer available.
3) Running the Guantlet :o
- If selected, a test is prepared/ planned for you to test your aptitude as a guide. It will be fun, and most often challenging. Hmm..a challenge.

Shiff Dragonheart, lvl 19, NG
1) Close to three years
2)Since Early 07, though hes been inactive mostly lately
3)I know the rules, I'm familiar with the handbook, and on the forums a great deal.
So I would like to have Shiff be considered for a Stormcrest Guide at some point, if that is possible.

Please send me any PMs that you would send to Chongo; also stay tuned for some other things that are going on in that department. I've had company for awhile so I haven't been around enough in the evening to make the necessary postings. I was going to re-open this but with some differences so I wasn't prepared for the bump ;)
There will be some IC notices, too.
