Title: What's a goblinoid?
Post by: Skywatcher on April 21, 2007, 06:11:03 PM
I was looking at the description of the ascender's march boots and one of the things is an AC bonus against goblinoids.  I was wondering what qualifies as a goblinoid.  Obvously golins do but what other monsters fall into this category?  Kobolds?

Bugbears I think...

According to LORE this is what is included, but it dose not say if this list is complete

 LORE: Goblinoids (http://nwn.layonara.com/Goblinoids)

That actually looks pretty complete. All variants of goblin and bugbear; wasn't sure about gnolls, but it seems they are.

Gnolls are not goblinoids in core rules.  They are Medium Humanoid (Gnoll) as oposed to a bugbear that is Medium Humanoid (Goblinoid)

Maybe this is a NWN thing, maybe Lore is in error on this. *shrugs*

I think that might be a 3.5 thing. Pretty sure that in NWN at least there is no "Humanoid" racial type (even though there is a humanoid category in the toolset.)

Kobolds are Reptilian Humanoids.

I can't think of anything else that's a goblinoid off the top of my head other than some uber obscure things that I remember from 2nd Ed.

That was what I was thinking... They're canids rather than goblinoids.
