Title: So, the time comes swiftly...
Post by: Stephen_Zuckerman on April 25, 2007, 03:39:51 PM
When I will not be able to play at all anymore.

Life rolls ahead, and the carefree life of a highschooler wanes...

Forty hours a week begin soon, at tiny, six-dollar-an-hour wages, every penny of which is saved.

All to go towards security deposits, application fees, first and last month's rent, utilities, food, gas, and an apartment-warming party.

I've got a month until I move, and most of that time will be taken up with working (soon, anyhow). I'm not going to be leaving for good, nor even completely disappearing. But... I won't be able to play much. Even in this coming month.

Explorers, never fear; I'll do my best to make the Belinara trips.

Quest DMs? Don't think you'll be rid of me so easily. ;)

The rest of you? Well... Keep up the good work. And don't expect me to be gone!

'Cause, you know, I'm still around for now.

When you get settled, you'll find you have more time than you expected.  Besides, Pyyran has a duty to continue to spread "Striker" philosophy of fighting. Oh, and go to college, you bum. ;-)

It's not so bad.  Soon you'll learn how much sweeter layo tastes when you have to call in sick or wait until the weekend in order to play it!

Working for the Weekend.

@Stephen and Milty:  No offense, but by the Time Stephen finds time to play again, Shiff will be the one teaching "Striker"  Philosophy, and you both know it...

Have fun in the "real world."  Trust me...  You'll be back in a week...

I bet you'll find a way to play.  Layo is like Hotel California.  You can check out any time you want but you can never leave. :)

You guys are terrible *laughs at Milton and Lonnarin*.  Good luck on making your own start!  Remember..slow and steady wins the race, and if I could offer you one bit of advice on life....stay out of debt.  See you around.

Sorry to hear that Stephen but I hope Karn will still see Pyyran around from time to time. Yet RL must come first! Good Luck!

You'll quickly realize it all isn't as daunting or as hard as it now seems... and that you'll probably want to play more.

 See you then.  ;)

Oi that's perfect.

And it's such a shame to see you get a clamp that size on game-time... $6/hr is just abominable. Try working at yon bank. Pay good. Or.. begin an organic vegetable garden and stick it to the man. Or or, harvest boxes of aloe - they sell good you know, and, and spider silk! *pictures Stephen going around the basement sweeping off spider webs with a Q-tip into a box* Heeheh

:( Any loss of Pyyran is a big loss.

Are you insane!!

I work 42 hours a week, keep the GF happy, turn out with the lads,  and still find the time.

But....RL is the main. Good luck mate!
Dont be gone long *waves*

*chuckles at the picture of Stephen sweeping cobwebs*

You know Steve. I thought that you guys would never ever see me again (or not that often) when college started. Im still here.

Don't count your chickens, good ones or bad.

Yes, counting the evil chickens is bad.

I love you guys. So very much.

Anyhow, I'm likely to have a lot more time to play (among other things) once I do get moved in and get my schedule settled down, but this coming month is going to be a strain. School and work... That's eighty hours a week, together.

Six bucks an hour is about all I can make with no Highschool diploma or even GED (yet), and zero work experience. I know, I know, it's a rough and unfriendly path to go, getting a GED, but I've been through the discussion way too much with too many people. Suffice it to say that it's not currently possible for me to take another route.

The Hotel Layonara is not in Prantz. Oh, no. They bought real estate in my heart. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v281/IamJonathan/Icons/foxhappy.gif)

I AM NOT GONE. Rawr. Nor will my time even be constrained until I START at Arby's, which is probably another week off. (Though I really hope not - I needs the moneys.)

But I do love you guys.

Though... How big is a "box"? I mean, I can grow aloe myself... ;)

Yeah, RL gets in teh way of layo alot :)

Dont worry, pretty soon hawk will be calling Pyyran Daddy *evil grin*

Better the GED than what I have, since it doesn't even count outside of the state. Which despite some problems it gives me, I am thankful for, since the 'proficiency' exam was 100 multiple choice questions and a five minute essay... the math portion was scary. I mean. "If there is a 1/4 chance that it will rain on Saturday, what are the chances that it will NOT rain on Saturday? Take your time... this is only the equivalent to four years of schooling, apparently."

Useless, I tell you.

I think you'll manage some layonara time between a heavy work and school load.  But when in doubt, drop the game.

I wish you the best Steven.

Good luck dude.  If you want a better paying job, try to get in to the restaurant industry in the front-of-house.  You can make sick loot in the right spot.

<<;; I'm still around,  guys. I'll even be in-game from time to time.

Though my super-duper-busy working-time has been extended a month... Thankfully, I'll at least not be in school after May, so I'll have roughly the same kind of time I do now. Or did a week or so ago.

I'm rambling.

The longest goodbye.. Didn't I just see Bumblebee on the other day in Dregar.. maybe not - he's hard to see sometimes.  Anyway.. Good luck with your RL trials and somehow  - I'm sure you'll find the time to Layo..I'm counting on it, who else will set me straight when I accidentally make a rp blunder?

As much of a compliment as I take that, I'm not Bumblebee's player. :) Pen N Popper is.

But thank you for the well-wishes!

Right! So, my interview with Arby's is tomorrow, and they want me to get the job as much as I do.

It would've been today, but some surprise meeting for the hiring manager... Gah.

Ah well; tomorrow!

I will certainly try to keep a day or two open for the quests I've been attending, but we'll see.

The sammich place? Do we get free sammiches? *grins*

Hehe hehhe....I thought my grandmother was the only one who said Sammich.

We always had a sammich when we visited.

Anyways good luck on the job interview!

Sweet deal, I love their food and go there about 2x a week for lunch where I work.  Their curly fries and mochaccino milkshakes rule, as do their roast beef concoctions.  My only complaint is that if I order anything with the cheese sauce, it seems to bypass several miles of intestines within a mere 5 minutes of swallowing and sends me sprinting to the bathroom.  If you could somehow identify and harness this mystery additive, it would make a powerful weapon indeed.

Retail doesn't give alot of pay, but alot of fun from my experience. I'm currently looking for resturant work, so I can be more of a rounded person in my youth, and looking for work EXP in something psychological related.

Anyhow, my first day is this Saturday at 5pm EDT to 2am EDT (yeah, I'm closing). That'll be more or less my orientation/training... And right on a huge rush, too. Fun stuff.

After getting my schedule settled out after that, I'll more or less be working every day. Yeah... The time looms close.

of course, Moonsorrow is atill my absolute favorite viking metal of all time.

YouTube - Moonsorrow - Jumalten Kaupunki (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwyJ8_jZexE)

Also listening to Falkenbach, Falconer, Wintersun, Hollenthon, HEL, Folkearth, Ensiferum and the like.  Today I'm playing mostly prog metal like Stratovarius, Emerald Sun and Sonata Arctica.
