Hey
I am considering making a ghostwise halfling cleric going about on a Ritual of Change. However, I can't really find anything on which deities could be acceptable for that race. The only thing it says is that they don't worship Prunilla and Deliar (and Katia).
I am considering something a little neutral:
Xeen -
because of wine and festivity, which usually means something to halflings. And absolutely not because Xeen also equals the lash
Lucinda -
neutrality, magic ~ it might be stretchable to spirits and ghosts
Katia or Mist -
because that people that depend on agriculture usually have respect for the weather and a priest to appease the weather goddess probably wouldn't be a bad idea. Anyway, the church isn't structured, so more peaceful individuals could exist
Kithairien -
because of the close ghostwise relationship with the wild elves
Shadon -
because it is neutral and might do for a halfling. On the other hand, it doesn't fit the ghostwise halflings very well, but there can always be exceptions
Stretching it futher, the following may be of interest:
Corath -
because of the death domain. Death ~ ghosts, spirits. Other than that, Corath is waaaay too extreme imo
These are just ideas, and I would like to have a second opinion before I go wild and make up a story about how he got to go on the Ritual of Change

When it says that they do not worship the Couple, it is referring to the fact that the Ghostwise do not generally worship any deities at all. Druids are far more common than clerics, because these halflings are more into ancestor worship and nature than 'gods.'
If one DID worship a deity for some extremely uncommon reason, it probably would be Katia or Kith, but clerics are uncommon because the Ghostwise are more about the spiritual than the religious...one could say that they go hand in hand, but in their culture, they do not.

Well, ghostwise adventurers are uncommon and they are walking about because they do not fit in ;)
Another question: Do druids have to take a deity?

True enough on the Ritual of Change halflings, obviously they are missing some balance in themselves or they wouldn't be off seeking it. Rare is still a good word though, I think. ;)
No, all druids receive their abilities from nature, and many use Katia as that focus. Other druids may worship a few other nature-oriented deities (Kith, Folian, Shindaleria, even Prunilla in a couple cases), while others may believe that the gods are just forces of nature evolved. There a bunch of angles to hit druids from that do or do not include deities, some of which are mentioned in the druid information.

Ok, thank you.
My idea was to avoid anything too structured (mainly due to the fact that ghostwise appear somewhat isolationist), and while they aren't particular attached to any deity (except perhaps Katia), druids do seem a bit too structured, organised and political.
Do you know how many ghostwise there are around currently? If there are too many, I'll drop ghostwise altogether. Rare should be rare, after all.

I know a few ghostwise characters, but I don't think any have been approved since the restrictions were lifted. And even before that, there were relatively few. :)
It is a little ironic that druids are seen as the more organized and structured option between them and clerics, and indeed there are some more militant druids that act as though the druid hierarchy is something of a police state. However, in the end it's just knowing one's place in the flows of nature and those that tend other branches than your own, who may offer guidance and what is the purpose of your abilities and their focus. (I pulled that out of a dark place but it sounded vaguely appropriate.) Because of the sheer amount of information and the heavy emphasis on the structure of druids, it's easy to forget the huge amount of variety found in them. The Hierophant is not a king in any way.
