Title: First Letter to the Church of Aeridin at Sadinia from Shalar Aza'iel

 Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Forgive my delay in sending you this first letter since my arrival here to the continent of Mistone, but I have been busy finding my way around this very different place.  I have spent the past few months finding odd jobs to support the cause of Aeridin and provide for my needs.  I have learned much of the lands that I now travel, learning of its people and their customs, so that I might better be able to serve them for the glory of the Lifegiver.  Many of the common people here are in dire need, much as the same state we seem to be experiencing on the continent of Voltrex, but even more so turning to banditry and thievry as a means for survival.  The undead seem to walk the lands as common as the living, which has taken most of my time since my arrival returning them to the Great Cycle as our lord demands.

I feel I must confess to you the one area I seem to have been unresponsible in, is the seeking out of the memebers of our faith that are apart of this land.  I have made contact with one, a female cleric named Mirriam Cade, who was very helpful in showing me the making of potions and the customs of the followers here on Mistone.  She has told me there are many of our faith here and they try to help the suffering of the people here the best that they can.  I have visited the shrine of the Lifegiver, in the forest of the Silkwood, in an area called Folian's Vale.  It seems in well order and proper care as a healer of our faith resides there, although he does not seem to want to speak much to me about the details of the shrines care.

I feel that I shall be spending the next few months trying to meet more of our faith and meeting with fellow adventurers to explore more of the lands beyond Voltrex, something that I have been hesitant to do, as seeing so many of different races has overwhelmed me.  Know that I do not judge these people for who they are, but rather I wish not to offend them by not knowing the proper ways to respond to the differences they have, since I have lived my entire life around only the sanctity of the elven people.  Pray to Aeridin that I shall be able to overcome my fears as I meet the people of this diverse culture.

Know that I miss each and everyone there at the temple.  I pray daily for you, that the people will be relieved of their suffering, and that I shall be able to one day see you again.

 Most Humbly,

 Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I feel the prays to Aeridin about the aprehensions I have in meeting the varied races of this new place are being answered slow but surely.  Many I have met and aided in our fight against the evils of this land.  I have spent most of my time aiding those that wish to enter the Gloomwoods or the crypts at Vehl.  The undead of these unholy places seem to rise from the ground faster than Aeridin can aid me in laying them to rest.  Pray that I will be able to find the source of this evil to put a permanent end to the rise of the dead there.

I have also stumbled across a young human girl in a small town called Krandor.  She requested my aid to return the ashes of her dead grandfather that she inadvertently dropped when dead began to appear.  I thank Aeridin that she was spared and her life was not taken from her as the dead there are too much for even the power that I possess.  Pray that I shall be able to find a group willing to battle the evil there and that the crypt there will be cleansed for good.

As to the shrine of Aeridin located at Folian's Vale, I continue to check with the healer there if any assisstance is required as to its upkeep.  I get little response from him, but I do not wish to burden him with my demands.  Mirrim told me of a temple at the port town of North Point, which I have yet to visit.  Perhaps she will aid me soon in the task.

I also met another priest of our faith a man that goes by the name of Carr.  He is faithful in the task of laying the dead to rest and is there to aid all that request such.  Perhaps between Carr and Mirrim, we can figure out the evil in the afore mentioned locations and stop the evil raising of the dead.

Again I miss you all and pray for you daily.  May our lord Protect thee and grant you life.

Dear Brothers and Sister of the Lifegiver,

Forgive the delay of my letter, informing you of my progress of learning about our faith outside the boundries of our elven nation.  It seems the dead are in a constant state of unbalance in these lands and as soon as many are laid to rest to return to the Great Cycle, more are risen from their graves to walk the lands once again.  I seem to work day and night in the many crypts and graveyards where the dead seem to walk continually.  I fear it will take the death of the Eternal Foe by the hands of our Lord to put an end to this unbalance.  But until that glorious day, I shall work tireously to return the dead to the Great Cycle.

I do not mean to go on so about the afore mentioned, but rather seek a request of your prayers and supplications to the Lifegiver to an event I have termed The Great Cause.   It seems many of the poor and needy have been fed false information about the faith in the town of Port Hempstead.  Papers were pasted slandering our faith along with the Toranites and Rofireinites, condemning our vows and oaths as nothing more than idle chatter.  I sent a letter to the local temple in Folians Vale, requesting that the leaders of our faith call a meeting to discuss how we might meet the needs of those less fortunate souls that we have been called to serve.  It seems our actions will speak against these false claims, as we will give alms and aid to the poor.  I am happy to see our faith is not just words on paper, but the true deeds that we can provide.  Please pray for protection from The Protector for the innocent souls that may attend and that our faith maybe restored in the eyes of the many people we serve.

Finally, brothers and sisters, I ask a personal request of a delimma that haunts my thoughts.  I have heard it said of our faith, that to protect life is the only and ultimate goal.  I do not dispute this thought, as we serve the Lifegiver and the Perserver of Life, but it seems that this claim has become something more than it was truly meant to be.  I have heard said that no life should be taken in any circumstance.  Not the life of plants, animals, nor those of the evil creatures that look to harm the innocent.  I believe this to be a lie straight from the Trickster himself.  I have been wrestling with this delimma for sometime now, wondering if one follows the logic listed above, how does on live life since walking upon the grass crushes its life from its green blade.  The ant that travels below foot of the weary travel is crushed and destroyed taking the life from its small form.  I would dare say the Berylites would say we destroy the earth when we take the metals and gems from the caves deep below the earth.

The lives of the Trolls and Lizardfolk that were lost a few night ago, I do regret.  Though had one survived or submitted in a deathless defeat, I would not have taken its life needlessly.  This I believe is our duty, the 'meat' of our faith, if you will.  I have prayed daily about this, and feel a peace in my very soul, that our faith has been distorted to a degree that would keep many to become a faithful follower of The Protector.  I believe the paladins of The Lifegiver know this truth and walk the path more true to that of their calling.  I too have thought of seeking the vows and oaths of paladinhood, though I shall follow Aeridin in the way he deems best suited for me to follow.  Pray that I would have the wisdom to make the right decisions in the days to follow.

May the Perserver of Life keep your days of life long and enjoyable.

Dear Brothers and Sisters of the Lifegiver,

I hope this letter finds you well and safe in the the hands of The Protector. Considerable time has passed since my last letter to those whom I love back home has been sent and I wanted to send word that I am well and safe as well. I had taken a sabatical leave of my duties, to help the priests of the Shrine of Aeridin in Folian's Vale, for a time. During this leave I have been in much pray and fasting, helping of the poor and infirmed, and seeking the wisdom of the leaders of our faith on the continent of Mistone. I hope that the Lifegiver has been glorified by the little that I have been able to provide those in need. Praise be to The Preserver of Life!

I have recently returned to my duties, only to find that one of the leaders within our faith has fallen from the grace of our Lord Protector. The one known as Lex'or Gravedigger has left the faith for reasons that make no since to one of faith. It seems the loss of the Lifegivers powers of protection and elemental control, has pushed this priest of some power from the faith of Aeridin. I wish I would have reminded him of the eleventh vow of our faith, "Pledge your life, soul, and word to Aeridin. Never should you worship another and never should your faith falter." Why do so many here leave the faith? Perhaps it is the work of Shadon or one of the other gods of lies that convince so many that the work they do is without cause. But faith is the evidence of things unseen, and I shall not follow with my eyes, but with the spirit of our Lord. Praise to The Protector!

Finally, bretheren, know I miss you daily. I pray each moment for the ones I love back home at the Church of Aeridin at Sadinia. I would be called a Shadonite if I said I was not homesick and wished daily to come home. But from my sabatical leave of my duties I feel recharged to press forward and fight the good fight! If time permits, please send word of how goes of work of those I love. Praise be to the Lifegiver!

Title: Fifth Letter to the Church of Aeridin at Sadinia from Shalar Aza

Winged Trade, Summer Home 13, 1446

Dear Brothers and Sisters of the Lifegiver,

It has been sometime since I last wrote you, as I have taken sometime to reflect and observe the goodness of Aeridin. It is hard to believe that twenty years have pasted since I last wrote you. Know that I have been at work in Folian's Vale, tending to the occassional weary traveler and listening to the wisdom of the teacher of Aeridin there. I know in the eyes of the other races, twenty years may seem to be a shameful waste of time in ones life cycle, but then again to those of us with elven heritage it seems as but a day.

The sabbatical has refreshed me to return me to my work of aiding anyone that Aeridin has led across my path. I have met a young female, one whom calls herself Kol. There is something different about her, something out of sorts, as though her soul is pulled in two different directions. Please pray that the Lifegiver might use me to show her a path less traveled.

Know I have returned to my duties of helping the needy, aiding the churches of Aeridin and laying the dead to rest. I pray that the love of The Protector would shine through me, so that many would come to know his great grace and mercy. I shall write again soon.

 Most Humbly,
