For Sale:
Emerald Amulet of Bull Strength.
This beautiful amulet has been gently used and was consecrated by a cleric of Beryl to be used as a good holy symbol.
Reasonable and ludicrous offers accepted. Willing to barter significantly if barter includes nice set of cobalt or mithril full plate armor.

Arkolio wanders past and reads the notice, paying particular attention to the line of "ludicrous offers accepted". With an almost imperceptible shrug of his shoulders he adds an offer.
Ms Lillian,
In my travels I have collected,
2 eggs of black onyx,
3 glow worms,
2 traps that dispense a minor amount of holy energy upon trigger,
A glass statuette of a man that looks a little *shivers* like a nude Sallaron,
Leather gloves of a mundane nature,
A glass eye,
4 scrolls of identify spell,
1 scroll of summon monster I,
2 vials of a mild diluted poison,
and an iron bascinet.
All this can be yours in exchange for the amulet.
Additionally I am willing to let you keep acquaintance with me for a period not exceeding 1 month, but a lengthy enough period of time that I am sure you will be regarded as one of the 'in crowd' ever after.
Yours,
Arkolio de'Averlain

I will offer a decent number of Cobalt nuggets as well as 15000 true for the amulet.

Dear Mr Dragonheart,
It is customary in the auction process for successive bids to be of higher value than the preceding bids.

Dear Mr de'Averlain,
It's also customary to offer things of actual worth.

10,000 and your choice of any indentured servants to fill your lustful desires. Ranging from manual labor, to pleasure far beyond what some meager, peck bard could offer, much less afford...

*Lillian finds a well written note in the post box, reads it, rubs her eyes, reads it again, asks a stranger to read it to her, nods, and places it into a parchment folder neatly. She simply writes a number at the bottom of her note next to a large S*
250,000 - S.

Arkolio sneaks up to the board and scrawls
I think S must stand for for superfluous, squandering, supernumerary, self-indulgent, surfeiting and swinish silliness.

Sold to Mr. S. Come find me to collect your amazing necklace.

Lillian
