The animals at the path to the iron mountain near the corn are not skinnable all of them except for the skunk (never tried it).

I believe this has been reported before and is intentional.

Correct, and the link from yclepton explains why.

Though since the Dark Ages are over, some adjustment is likely needed.  I'm not saying the changes will be favorable necessarily, but it's a good point.

the only odd thing that really seems out of place is there's a jaguar living with a worg. :P

This was adjusted in a recent update...mix of creatures updated.  Skinnability was not.
