HI guys,
I jsut found some elm plans in a chest. Now abi being the astute wood crafter that she is..cant seem to figure out what they can be used for.
The only woods the crafthalls let her work with being hickory, oak, mahogany and yew.
Im assuming these were from V1 of layo...so many hundreds of or thousands of years before she saw the light of day.
Any thoughts on the matter?

I found one or two as well. I'm assuming they're old loot drops... bugged ones with no use ingame... as I've never seen any spell or crafting use for them.
But... I'm curious to see a GM reply... incase I missed something.
-
My guess would be they are standard NWN drops. As if I remember correctly, elm planks are use in the standard NWN 'crafting' system.
-
Maybe, if nothing else, they could be donated for relief efforts like the rebuilding of Corsain and Stone and such as construction materials...though I'm not sure of the durability of Elm for use as a building material...maybe shingles?
-
elm wood planks were used in default crafting for bows and arrow shafts, from the hotu manual
-
Or we can use them now, build a huge bonefire, make smores, and tell ghostly stories.
-
i vote for ghost story bonfire

Yay!
Ill bring the marshmallows!
-
Just don't bring the Stay Pufft Marshmallow Man from Ghost Busters 1. That thing is worse than a tarrasque! ;)
-
BUt if i dont...there wont be enough for everyone... :(
Besides...I bet thw xp for slaying the evil marshmallow man would be great!
He is an epic monster after all. :D
-
Aw, man. I really need to write a Ghostbusters campaign now.
-
There is always room for marshmellows.

Y'know, every time I see this topic title, I can't help thinking of Edwin Starr...
Elm! hunh! Good gawd, y'all!
What is it good for?
Absolutely nuthin'!
Say it again!

I'm right there with you, Gul.

UI suppose they should count towards those "rebuilding city X" charity drives like the Foundation's holding. Save you some sawdust AND you finally have a place to send those planks!
Of course all the ones I got were from some cursed temple, so the poor little peasant refugees might get possessed by demons.
