Title: Ophelia's Journal- Book of Storms

Ophelia sits on her bed in a meager inn room at the Scamp's Mug. A journal on her lap and a quill in her mouth pondering her last couple of days traveling on a ship from Leningrad to Port Hempstead.  Her eyes flash suddenly as she pulls out the quill and dabs it in the ink jar sitting beside her.

 [SIZE=13]    I'm back at the place of my birth after a fun trek here on a  ship from Leningrad. The captain was a nice fella to let me join his crew for the trip to Hempstead. He even let me up on the crows nest, steer the boat- but took it a way rather quickly when he saw I was steering into to reefs! He has no sense of fun! Anyway.. Mostly other then those two things all I did was sit on the poop deck praying to Mist to keep the wind in our sails and maybe for a safe but fun trip! Sadly though the only storm we came close to was miles away on the starboard side on the morning of our second day. It was a beautiful thing to behold from a distance, still I wished it would come to us and test the crews mettle. [/SIZE]

 [SIZE=13]    Still an uneventful and safe trip to the docks. The captain even gave me some trues to stock up on supplies. I think he loves me.. because I really didn't do anything that special. But he most know I have hidden talents! [/SIZE]

 [SIZE=13]   It felt a little weird at first coming back to Hempstead. A lot of memories I have of the city and its docks.. Still it seems ages back now that I have chosen this new calling and after my parents decided to disown me for my calling.. the pricks..[/SIZE]

 [SIZE=13]Let's see, I got some leathers, a shield and a mace, still working on not bonking myself in the head with morningstarr.. Once was enough! Twice silly and they say the third time is the charm, yeah the charm of remembering I need more practice!   [/SIZE]

    What an eventual couple of days! I met a host of new people and friends! and Pets! hehe. I met a half-giant by the name of  Double, but I call him Tiny. He will make a nice little pet to have around if I can get him to listen to commands like "kill", "sit", "roll over" and the most important.. "Stay...... while I run! " hehe Oh this it going to be fun!
 
    I also met a dwarf by the name the name of Dan... Dan?  Dan really isn't a dwarf name is it? Anywho! He was one of the first friends I met and he introduced me to people that could use help with either cleaning  the pipes or taking a stick away from kobold and countless other minor jobs!  Which helped get me some new clothes and food. And food is always a good thing! We talked alot.. mostly about his love of work to make Dorand happy and I told him alot about Mist and our belief that there is beauty in untamed chaos of a storm and how we believe that each task or mission or goal is a challenge that must be overcome. I also told him about the beauty that in the destruction of lands after a storm.. he didn't seem to like that much but didn't say alot just "Ye kin go ahod 'n belove wot ye wont te belove 'n oy'll de da som'"  what ever he meant don't know don't care.. hehe
 
    But I did make a deal with him.. I would offer my blessing for him to mine and he in turn would agree for a little unorganized chaos beating up orgres and other baddies. He happily agreed but every time we go out I can hear him grumbling "Oy shed be mioning" Silly dwarves and their one track minds!

     Mist be Blessed! and I think she likes me! By chance when I was heading to Port Hempstead to find someone to modify a funky helm the Lieutenant in Llast gave me for services rendered, I ran into Miss Kali and Mister Hardy! (there are little drawing of hearts around his name) Fellow Mistys I might add!.  We talked for a bit and I again thanked them for letting me stay at their inn while I recovered from my little brush with death. We talked for a little while then I asked them why they were in Port Hempstead. Kali said they were trying to find a tailor who was in rare spiders silks. Well I am not going to turned down a chance to prove myself and my worth so I told them that I would find them a buyer and they could go on their merry way and have some "alone" time.. because if I was Kali I would want all the alone time I could get with that stud of man Hardy (more drawings of hearts) hehe.  
 
     We haggled a bit for a fare compensation for me selling the rare silks and they weaseled me down to only 5%  that Hardy and those pretty eyes! My only weakness! is men!  hehe
 
     I bid them that their sails be filled of wind on their return to Leringard as they set sail.. And mister Hardy asked me if I was following them to the docks but I said "You are the on following me..evidently you are entranced by my cute walk!"
 
     Dear Journal.. I think am in love!
 
 hehe not!
 
  Kali would kill me.. She is a cute and all but behind that I bet there is a tempest ready to erupt for her man!  And I wouldn't blame her!  Growl!

The next several pages are filled with drawings.
 
 
 
 
 The first page is of clouds and rain showers. Some show a lightning bolt coming out of the cloud and zapping what could only be a dwarf (labeled with the name "Dan!") holding a pick as well as what appears to be a giant (which has been labeled "Double!") that has a leash being lead around by a smaller figure (single word over top of her that says "me!"). At the bottom of the page is a single short sentenced. "Mining Day"
 
 
 
 
 

The second page is the same as the first many doodles of her name with hearts and clouds surrounding it. As well another picture of the dwarf (still labeled "Dan!"" being dragged off by an ox while a halfling follows along (still labeled "Me!") Again a single sentence can be seen at the bottom. The third page is filled with different drawings of the death of the dwarf labeled repeatedly with "Dan!". Some of the most evident ones show Dan being crushed by Double, Dan falling into a smelter furnace, and Dan being struck by lightning. (again!) A couple sentences can be seen below. "Guess what? Yep! Still mining.. Bleeding dwarf doesn't know the meaning of fun."

 
 
 
 
 
 
 

The fourth page is filled with more pictures of clouds and the drawings of waves and light houses. Hardy's name is written again surrounded by hearts as well as Shiff's name circled in hearts.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 

The fifth page is filled with with what appears to be a maze that doesn't look completely finished. A couple of lines are written at the bottom of the page. "If we don't go do something I am going to turn into a dwarf.. and watching Dan's eating and sleeping habits.. This is not a good thing!.. Tomorrow.. I am dragging his arse out for an adventure! After all we had an agreement! he owes me four days of fun!"

     Wow! its been a couple a weeks since I wrote in here.. Need to catch up!. A couple days ago I heard talk of a dart tournament that was going to be held  at the Crossroads here on Mistone and I thought to myself since I have never played darts in my life, that I could win and splurge the winnings on equipment and maybe even some training,not that I need training mind you.
 
     So! I went to this tournament barely listened to the rules until Kali and Hardy came! then the rule went out the window. we chatted for a bit and I was telling them that I was bored and was about to drown somebody and then Hardy said that I would need to dig the stream deeper and then I said! " You only need six inches to drown a man!"  was it funny? I don't know.. but I laughed!  
 
     Anyway! the dart tournament. I and another went in to the shack to toss darts while the others tossed darts outside. That's when I met Pallena! She is awesome and pretty and I love her cat who seems to have a fascination with my feet!  We chatted for awhile and got to know each other but then the Mast hugging land lubber Berak or whatever decided he wanted to lose faster then he was. So I was kind enough to oblige him!
 
     After I won me and Pallena went outside and picked on a toranite Lance Stargazer. That boy is a few sandwiches short of a picnic basket I'll tell you. Then Pallena had to go so I could focus on winning the tournament! ........
 
     Okay so I came in third!  But! I won some money and let people know who I am and I one to be trifled with. Kali came back somewhere from me losing. Not my best hour I wanted her to see me at.  So we talk a bit and then I thought of a good Idea where atleast I could get a better profit rather then a small bag of trues.. So I convinced Kali (which was not hard at all, should have been a tip off that something was up!)  to play a game of darts. First person to hit Bull eyes wins! She wanted a year of service and I wanted a fancy belt of cunning.  gypsy luck!  That is all am going to say!  So now I work for Kali which is not a bad thing but I could be thinking of alot of funner things to do..  
 
 
 I will write more later!

   Okay so where did I leave off? oh yeah! Slave Dom with the arms hehe. Nah is not that bad really. I have a room and all I have to do is gather some things for the Gala and scribe some tickets for them which I am almost done with. Kali also had and idea about making lion bags for all the gathers so I took it upon my self to make sure we had enough hides and maybe  off Katia!  Me and Kali decided to go out and hunt for some bear meat to make roast for the Gala. (whatever that means sure it means something fancy!)  Through my travels with Double I have seen a couple of bears so I decided that I would lead the expedition. And I lead who through forest don't know the name and really don't care.  There me and her used our formidable powers to weaken and sizzle the black bears and a couple of dire boars. I might have gotten carried away just a bit because one kinda blew up and was totally useless hehe.
 
      During our hunt we kinda went far deep in the woods so far that Kali decided we would just head to Hlint. There we can across a shrine of Katia.. And then I had a vision or it could have been the silver buckle gin I had.. Anyway! I saw myself standing over the charred remains of the shrine in a powerful thunderstorm! I came out of my trance or day dream hehe and Kali was telling me about the shrine and I told her nothing of my vision just that atleast I knew where to come if I need to pee.
 
      Blah Blah Blah we made it back to the Arms  and  we handed off the meat to Storold to get to cooking. Hardy came in and we talked a bit and Him and Kali went out on a grand adventure no doubt and I was left with the balding blue boy. So of course I wasn't going to stay at the Arms and do work if Kali and Hardy went out to go play "hero". Well I was going to do work and have fun at the same time! A hunting I did ago for lion hides!
 
    Now after my hunting of lions and my ox exceptionally full I headed back to the Arms and start to unload  the  the hides to put in crates.. And some Fool puts a letter up  saying that he has heard about our  "hunting of lions" and blah blah.. endangering the packs and something about making them extinct and all the other tree humping nonsense. All I can say to that is what in the hells!? Quit your ing ye tree hugging pansies!  I didn't climb up to the top of the food chain to hunt corn! Let all nature creatures live  blah blah blah.. Then ye will be infested wit too many  critters and mounds of critter poo! I am doing you all a favor.. I am killing the stupid beast before it turns into a problem!  Just another sign to blow up a shrine to Katia!

 It has been many weeks since I have last wrote in these pages.. Alot of things that have happen, but again nothing has happened. I got out and adventure with my friends bringing destruction of Mist's fury to those that stand in my way. Yet, though I still feel empty that I could be doing more.
 
 It pained me greatly that I could only do so much for Leringard.. while other gathered more and raised more money. But Atleast I was there helping and handing out supplies.. Atleast I tell myself that was enough for now.. Just for now.. I will grow in the faith of Mist and have more followers and lead them to her teachings of destruction and revel in the untamed fury of her storms, test themselves on her waters.
 
 Still I have grown during my short absence in this book but also I have taken a step back.. I have grown in faith and even have shown Double my bestest friend to follow Mist's teachings and I am sure I will lead others to her call as well. I have taken a step back by my failing in a gauntlet I ran.. I failed against a water trapped and drown. Ironic I think sense I proved and was tested of her seas when I first came to her calling. Still I know I will do better next time.. I must.. I will not fail Mist again.. I will prove that her followers and priestess' are stronger and endure whatever challenges come our way.
 
 On a different note Double has come a long way.. I see him taking the teachings of Tempest to heart and I have never seen him fail or run away from a challenge. Not only that though he has helped me grow in faith. I see his works and know that I must be strong like him and endure and never back down and I will with help of friends that I have made and my companion Double. I will grow and be the Strongest in her clergy and those that I call my enemy will shake in fear as Her storm rolls over them leaving only charred remains.
 
 But, Enough of of those happy thoughts.. Now I must train and grow stronger. Hardy and Kali have taken me under their wing.. atleast.. I think they have.. To help me be tested and grow in the faith of Mist. Hardragh is a Voice of Mist and his opinion matters most to me now, but Kali's opinion I respect she is sly and cunning and I can't help but to love that about her. Those two do make a perfect couple. Where one is weak the other is strong and yet they don't lean on each other for support they both stand with their backs straight weathering all challenges with faith of Mist and love of each other..
 
 
 That is how I want to live......and love.
