IF IT AIN'T DUTCH >>>>>>>IT AIN'T MUCH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
;) :D ;)
-
Hey.... some of us soccer fans aren't European you know...
-
Football? Where?
-
What the hell is all this "Soccer"?
Its Football!
:P
-
*grins*
Trying to educate the non - Europeans ;)
-
"Football" Actually uses le Feets to move ze ball... Football ... well, not so much...
-
It's association football.... you took the second part, we took the first and twisted it a bit...
(when I'm around Americans I call it football just to confuse people, but in the post above I had the need to assert my Americanness ;))
-
That's One !!!!!!! :D *waves to the French *
-
The Netherlands have definitely showed a lot of potential with this young, yet now experienced, team. They have showed great imagination and efficiency in creating amazing offensive plays and passes yet have a somewhat lackluster defense.
I see them going to the semi's. Although the potential for the win is there, I fear the dutch will lose their luck by the semis.
-
THAT'S TWO !!!!!!!!! *drowns the second half off a crate off quality beer singing *
-
*grumbles*
Of side ....but okay....2-1
-
*cheers *
HAHAHAHA ...make that 3- 1 *runs for beer !!!!! *
-
I actually have the pool at work i picked the dutch lol , *grins*
Might get lucky they go well till the semi's or quaters like Engalnd and nevcr quiet make it .
Maybe this year
-
THAT'S FOUR !!!!!! *hick*
-
Former champion Italy - dutch ----------0 - 3
Vice champion France - dutch ----------1 - 4 ........
Time to party !!! :D
edit : ermmmm....make that ruling world-champion and runner up ;)
-

*chuckles* They were champion in 1988 ......and already in the semi's now
and ermmmmm....Brit's didn't make it to the championship at all this year :D
-
Don't put them in the semi's just yet, they'll likely have to face Sweden in the quarters and those crazy swedes are also full of surprises.
The Netherlands' progression will largely depend on whether they can keep this sort of tempo up or will they burn away all their fuel by the playoffs. I still see them falling in the semi's though.
-
Next game they can do some " recreational football " , saving their strength and try some new things out .
They will be fresh in the quarter finals :D
-
okay I am converted here, I aint much but....say what beer should I be drinking right now...;)
-
Hmmm...the usual would be " Heineken " ...but i prefer " Hertog Jan "
PS : the phrase only counts for soccer ( football ) and cycling Mix ;)

*coughs* not if you shoot 79 in the third round.
Tiger is going to take it without breaking a sweat. :)

okay I am converted here, I aint much but....say what beer should I be drinking right now...;)
Usually here in Wales when watching the football they tend to drink Carling or Stella Artois
when watching the Rugby its the same i think
Me personally i would much prefer a nice large Martini and coke to sit and watch the footie ... but as you all know i still cant drink yet (being 36 weeks pregnant and all) ... may be next year if England or even Wales get through the Qualifying stages then maybe i will be up the pub drinking just as much as you lads *grins*

Well done for the wallabies , credit were credit is due indeed .
btw .....why don't they use Aussy coaches ? ;)
-
@jan - That was below the belt. :P
@Aragwen - I'd feel bad that Ogilvy is 4 shots off the pace ... if it weren't for the fact he was still 2 shots in front of the Big Easy.
-
@ Pseudo - nahhh ..in the end it are the sporters that get the results , but couldn't resist to point it out ;)
ps : the aussy cyclists are well on their way these days aswell , just not my style to hang on for life behind others and then try to steal wins ;) ( same goes for American's in cycling ) *sighs deep*

Hey!! When last did an Aussie win a major golf event *stick his tongue out*
At least Immelman won the last one. *runs of laughing*
But we speak again after the 19th July.

I know it's a bit more expencive then what you propose Ed ....but ermmmm...buy a bottle and read what's on it ;)

I'll bring this back on track.
Turkey building one of the biggest comebacks in recent football history, coming back from a 0:2 deficit to win out big 3:2. While their main goalkeeper goes out with a red card for the last few minutes forcing their striker to stand in goal.
Unfortunately the Czech could not capitalize on this, so Turkey goes on as the second seed after Portugal into the semis.
Amazing drama. Got to love football.
-
Boy, this thread sure is quiet today.
-
Yup ....greatest games in the first rounds ....weakest game in the quarter final :(
Bad substitutes leading to the 0 - 1 ...then a big fight to catch up ..which worked ...then 30 min extra time ...and a winner no one can argue about ...*sighs*......i want a rock to crawl under and hope i never have to leave it :( :( :(
-
I almost feel bad for bringing it up. Almost.
-
Yup ...and i -almost - feel bad that the Big Easy won the golfing tournament ....;)
-
you should have come to dimmu borgir instead of watching a silly doccer game hahaha...you really missed out jan
-
Oh man I hate to say I told you so, but I did. Holland lost their momentum and I feared they would. My only miscalculation was that I expected them to be playing Sweden in the quarterfinals, winning and then dying (like yesterday) in the semis.
Better luck next tournament, the Holland curse continues.
PS: Russia is playing just like everyone expected them to play coming into this tournament. Hiddink just had to find the right chemistry for the more important games and so far the results have been devastating.
-
The rusian team playes the best fotball I have watched for ages.. When we lost against them (Sweden) I was first ofcoursed disapointed on our own team.. But I truely thought that Rusia was the better team that match.. And now after watching the game against Holland I'm in love in the Rusian way of playong football.
They are entertaining to watch and they might not have the best individuals but as a team they have showned the best football this far in the tournament. I'm looking forward to their next match :)
-
It's because their coach is a Dutchman, Guus Hiddink.
He did the same "trick" with South Korea and Australia :)
-
Don't forget he did it with Holland aswell Ed ;)
