the discription for helm of the guard says "golden circlet"...since druids are allowed to wear gold rings can they wear a helm of the guard?

While I'm not actually going to answer the question for you (I admit I'm not the authority on Layo druids), I just want to say thanks for asking. This is the correct way to go about exploring what fits the RP of this world for your character (such as what sort of "helms" a druid might wear, or how helms, since they can be changed to look like hoods, are even interpreted).
