Title: Layo fanart
Post by: Kenderfriend on October 08, 2008, 11:06:35 AM: Okay not sure if anyone else has done any Layo art but... if not then here is some! I was a bit bored when the server was down, so I decided to draw the troupe 'Two halves and a Pint'. I know it's not very good, but I was just trying to see if I could get the characters across by doing a mixture of :
a- looking at the portraits
b- remembering the clothes worn in-game
c- some.. err... imagination?

Anyways, sorry in advance if I haven't done them well, but I hope you all like it anyway... even if you don't, as long as this makes you laugh! :D

P.S. looks a bit blurry at first, but click on the pic for 'full-view' and you can see it better.

Post by: minerva on March 08, 2009, 01:18:53 AM: This one took a lot more time, but is much truer to form than the other. I had forgotten how much I love to paint. Digital is almost as much fun as with acrylics but not nearly as messy.

It's Kat's bird, and he's usually far happier than grumpy ol' Fenrir! ;)

Was a request from Zoogmunch, he wanted me to draw that rofie, Isherwood. Had to stick halflings in there though, of course. Sort of helps with the size comparison...

Hope you like it, I could have done a more detailed drawing with a reference like, but I just wanted to capture the characters, and err, sorry about the large-ness heh. I like big pictures.

Sala, AnnaLee (behind), Caerwyn, female NPC Halfling, Steel, male NPC half-elf, Jaelle, Connor and the Kenku NPC.

Post by: minerva on December 20, 2009, 12:07:33 PM: DAZ Studio version 3 - I use the paid version but the free one is very good too. Daz Studios (http://www.daz3d.com/i/software/daz_studio3?_m=d). I also use GIMP (free photo manipulation program) and Photoshop elements.

It's not terribly difficult to learn even though intially the learning curve is very steep, but once you have the hang of how to use it and how the internal stucture works its dead easy and fairly intuitative.

Its also very addictive, and buying content can add up to $$ fast but there are lots of great free items out there if you want to spend the time to look.
