Hello all you Layo peeps
Its me G-452
That green ranger guy.
Hey I tried to check in on the old place a while back and failed misserably.
I ran NwN and once it got past all the logo's the screen was black, the music was still playing... but I couldnt click anything at all !!
Any ideas what the thunder happened?
Since I played last I have upgraded my machine (Processor, MoBo, Vid Card etc.)so I am guessing it has something to do with that.
Thanks for the advice!

are you running a newer nvidia card? if so you need to roll back yoru driver or go on the bioware website, there is a link there for a fix to that problem.
-
yeah newer nvidia card
what will rolling back its drivers do to other more current games though?

1.69 troubled some vista stuff too there is a forum on it in here somewhere, but running on administrator rights seemd to help...also I have to let all the nwn intro screens run by before starting sometimes....interrupting them throws me out..if I can find the forum ill point you

some shading etc might not be available with newer games, while running older drivers. You could always run two windows boot options, one with the older drivers for nwn, and one with the newer drivers for your other games.

You could try if the last post by me on this thread would help you out on your problem, sounds like the classic Black Screen caused by malfunctioning OpenGL on your video driver version to me.

Turn off everything like Shiny Water, Skyboxes and all that stuff and see if you can get in.
Then turn each of them on again and see if you can still get in, then you'll find out what causes the problem.
I can't handle shiny water, so that's turned off for me.
Good luck (& hi G :) )

alright I am past where things blacked out (TYVM Chazz!)
Ill see about getting the latest versions since it wouldnt let me in. ;)

if its like me I never get to click on the "multiplayer" button. I simply press the windows logo button on my keyboard to reduce and go back to my desktop then click on the "neverwinter nights" on the toolbar. That seems to solve my problem so that I can see the screen to choose what type of game to play.
I've had to do this ever since I installed a updated driver for my invidia gforce go 7900gs
.. hope that helps..
though Im no techno geek that may be just a bandaid but I m a jack of all trades and master of none, but I got it to work...
