Title: Tiefling: contradictory information
Post by: Hellblazer on April 14, 2009, 06:38:12 PM
Where: Lore

description:As per the Tiefling page (http://lore.layonara.com/Tiefling) on lore TIefling can have scales but in the note it says that they can't have any wings, tails, Large horns, scales or any other feature than those mentioned above. Well since the scales were mentionned above, it seems a bit contradictory.

it's understandable that they can't have wings, tails and glowing eyes, since they were not in the physical description, but the scales were.

Physical Description:

...

Tiefling skin comes in many varieties, some may have scales or fur, while others may have grey or black skin. Most have brown or reddish hair, although black is also not uncommon.

...

Note: Tiefling player characters may not have wings, tails, large horns, scales, glowing eyes or other features apart from the ones just mentioned.

This is not contradictory.
While there are some tieflings who exhibit scales, PC Tieflings may not.

Must be Chaotic even if descended from Devils instead of Demons is also kind of strange.

Layonara no longer has "devils" or "demons" in the traditional or D&D sense, as such one should not infer alignment based upon potential heritage. The "Chaotic" alignment is due to the internal conflict such mixed ancestry brings to a Tiefling.

Sounds like a good note to have on the page. I'll add it shortly.
