Title: ATTN: Characters with Circle Kick
Post by: Rowana on April 16, 2009, 12:08:39 PM
With the recent understanding of what is buged about Circle Kick we are offering a short duration relevel to any who have the feat. This is a one time deal and only offered for the next two weeks. If you have the feat and wish a relevel, post here with a time I can catch you in game for the relevel.

The following conditions must be met:
- This relevel must be handled in the two week period Apr 16th - Apr 30th.
- Only this feat may be changed, everything else must remain the same, including everything that was chosen to allow your character to take the feat.
- You need to figure out for me what level you took the feat at. You can use LORE to find this information out.
- You must have all of your other skills written down/kept track of so that you can respend exactly as before. You can use LORE to find this information out as well.
- You must have enough time at the scheduled appointment to accept the relevel and respend your levels while I'm there (mostly in case of any further issues developing).
- No "free" relevels will be offered if a player mistake is made during the process and you do not contact me right away, in game.

On another note, with this in hand, could the Shield Golem (Summon Creature VIII) get fixed since it has Circle Kick as well? Now I realize why it suddenly stops when being attacked by archers. With this, should I post the request in the suggestions or the bug reports? :)

That would be more appropriately posted in the bugs forum if it is not already noted there.

Yes, you should.

Rowana,

I would prefer to modify the player's bics directly rather then go through relevels.  It's easier on everyone involved.

The players would just need to let me know what they wish instead of Circle Kick and a quick swap of a couple of numbers and it's done

Circle kick is mandatory for those that want to become a Brother of Battle. If that could be changed, I would like to change it for Beli Tenker. Their are only two Brother of Battle PCs in game, so it does not involve many people. I believe I'm the only active one anyway.

I think an appropriate change would be to switch it out for Blind fighting. Beli does not have that now. I'm not sure about Garnet Stonesmitthy.

I just want to give big thanks to everyone who was involved with this decision or helps to implement it - I know it affects only a few of us, and I appreciate the willingness to consider the issue, and to take the time to fix it for us.

Again, thanks.

I have not pursued this because I have not used Beli much out side of being a guild gofer. It has really become a problem in the higher levels. On sunday I kept having Alantha yell at Beli because he was just standing there doing nothing in the fight. From an RP point of view it does not look good for a Brother of Battle. From a mechanical one it is not good for his health and SS management.

Like I posted before Circle Kick is mandatory for Brother's of Battle. So is it possible to get a rule change about them in this regard so I can have the feat switched?

Thanks

what about whirlwind, instead?  Would eat up some feats but...  Don't Monks get some of them anyway?

[LORE]Monk[/LORE]s get none of the four prerequisite feats for [LORE]Whirlwind Attack[/LORE]. Plus, there is the Intelligence and Dexterity requirements.

Great Cleave perhaps?  Monks get cleave early on.  In any case, if any class in the game uses a "broken feat" in order to attain and the list of pre-reqs for that class are in the realm of lore and not forced via game mechanics, it would be a good idea to change that feat prereq with something else that works better.

I could see Voraxians having a love for great cleave from a... spiritual standpoint. ;)

Monks do not get Circle Kick as a feat, also Brother of Battle (AKA BoB) is not a class but a Monastic order that Worships Vorax. Circle kick is just one of the requirements to be accepted into the order.

Great Cleave, Blind fighting, Power attack...all sound good to me

Sorry for the late reply.

I think Blind Fight works quite nice for Brothers of Battle.
