//Hold that thought! Negotiations to bump it back one week to accommodate the double XP weekend are under discussion. But one way or another it's coming soon!

It becomes widely known that due to a civil celebration in Port Hempstead, the grand opening of the Tower Academy will be pushed back by one week.

The celebration is still scheduled to include what is predicted to be one of
the social events of the season, the Enchanted Masquerade ball. Many speculate on what famous practitioners from Spellgard or elsewhere might be spotted at such an event.

The opening will also include a ceremony the following day to commemorate the opening of the tower, followed by at least one keynote speaker. The identity of the speaker is still not widely known.

//this event has had to be pushed back due to both the head of the school and the Councelor of student affairs being unavailable and it would be highly inappropriate to hold such events without them available so it is being pushed back to the weekend of May 30th instead.

Gilded invitations flood the city, and messenger birds are seen bearing others to distant lands ... the Tower Academy welcomes both nobles and commoners alike to both its Grand Opening (http://forums.layonara.com/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=11862&day=2009-5-30&c=2) and the gala the night before, which has been dubbed the Enchanted Masquerade Ball (http://forums.layonara.com/calendar.php?do=getinfo&e=11832&day=2009-5-29&c=2)

Masters robinson and marretts..

I should like to reserve a set of red dragon wings, a tail to match...and a red wig please.

I should be available for a fitting at a few hours prior to the ball.

After a long weekend of galas, visitors, speeches, openings and illusions in the sky over Port Hempstead, tired looking decorators and hired help are finally seen packing extra decorations out of the Tower Academy. The Tower Academy welcomes to the fold all the new students who signed up this weekend, and advises any others seeking magical guidance to write to one of the faculty.

Rumors of future events, including a new guest lecture series, are already whispered around certain circles within the magical community. Many wait to see what this newly opened Tower will make of itself ...

//Thanks to all the characters and players who came to the events this weekend! We so hope you enjoyed yourselves, and we especially loved your costumes! See you at future Tower functions soon, we hope!
