Title: House Interior Size
Post by: geloooo on June 19, 2009, 09:39:16 PM
Hiya,

I was wondering how I could find out how big my house interior is since I'm going to apply for a house remodel soon for the next update. :) It's going to be a simple update, and I just want to combine a few rooms and change the tileset. :)

It would help to know which house is "yours". ;)

But if you want to look for yourself, if you show the map and zoom all the way in, you can count grid squares.

Ohh grid squares... Uhh, for accuracy, I bought 122 Leringard :)

if you zoom in the map, you will actually see the grid, thus be able to calculate the actual size of your house. Pretty sure it's accurate.

Out of curiosity, why does it matter about the internal size of the house, bearing in mind that the internals rarely bear any resemblance to the exterior views in-game?

I am assuming of course, apart from spending a few (relative) trues and then designing a castle, so getting a better place on the cheap., or

A larger internal house will obviously be Kb-wise, larger than a smaller one, but give the size of servers nowadays versus the number of players, I would not have thought that would have been a problem.

I can't think of any other reasons, so hopefully someone more enlightened that I am will know. As I say, just out of curiosity, really.

Big areas in a server == major lag spikes any time a character enters them and the server has to serve it up - particularly when loading dynamic placeables.

It doesn't matter whether there's one or thirty people on the server; it can still cause lag.
