Title: Enchantments on bracers of dexterity
Post by: Hellblazer on July 10, 2009, 01:38:29 AM
Alright I've asked around a bit, but no one was 100% sure of a definite answer to this question.

If you take a bracer of dexterity that gives a +2 dex to those wearing them, and add an elemental rod and a silver rod to it. Will that erase the +2 dex the bracer's give?

it should not, elemental damage should only overwrite other elemental damage

Tested.

Since the bracers are not 'weapons' and do not have the damage already assigned to it, it cannot add the 'elemental damage' to it. The rod will simply not activate on the bracers. Nothing will be over written, either.

Given what bracers are (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bracer), it makes sense that elemental damage cannot be applied to them, mechanics notwithstanding.  Unless the person doing the unarmed damage is attacking with his or her forearms, of course. :)

Shouldn't the elemental protective dust work though?  Might make for some cozy forearms.

It works.

Resistances go on with no problem. They can be added to about anything.
