I thought it would be cool for the more distasteful PC's to be able to buy a slave from the slave pens in Katherian that was essentially a pack animal like the oxen. They follow you around and have a menu like the oxen and carry the same number of slots. Would make for some, *pauses* interesting RP... ;)

Yeah um...how should I put this...
I strongly doubt we will be putting systems in place to sell people as slaves to serve as pack animals or objects of RP or anything along those lines.

Hmm.. Too bad.

Also, it seems unrealistic that a human (adventurers and their strength-enhancing items notwithstanding) would have as many slots as an ox.

True on the slots. Reduced slots would have been acceptable to scale it... It has already been dismissed out of hand though, so the point is moot.

just out of curiosity, why is that, since in game slavery has been used in many occasions?

But not when the slave in question is under the direct control of a PC.
And nearly all instances of dealing with slavery in-game has been PCs vs. NPC slavers (with one exception that I can think of off-hand).
I'm not saying this to alter the realities of the world, in which slavery does exist and in some places is even sanctioned, but it's entirely another thing to give a system by which a player may own and control a slave NPC. While I understand how this would be appropriate for certain elements from an RP standpoint, the potential for misuse and straying into far more inappropriate uses, RP or otherwise, of a slave by PCs opens up a whole negative vibe that quite honestly we don't need or want here.

Thanks for explaining that.

Thanks for all of the responses. Replies from GM team in and out of thread makes perfect sense to me. Please lock thread and consider the suggestion withdrawn for good reasons. :)
