Anyway to remove the visual effect (Sonic) from a weapon without removing enhancements?

No. You can using an IG device remove the light the item produces, but the visuals are bioware standard for elemental damage above a d6, if my memory serves. Your only option is to replace it with a different visual if you don't like the sonic one.

what I have found is if you apply a silver, then reapply an other enchantment, for some reason the visual doesn't come on. Never tested it twice though.
